Role Description The Associate Industrial Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Erode, supporting continuous improvement in garment manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include analyzing production workflows, time and motion studies, and line balancing to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize labor utilization. The role involves collaborating with production, quality, and maintenance teams to implement standard operating procedures, layout improvements, and best practices on the shop floor. The Associate Industrial Engineer will assist in capacity planning, method study, and setting production targets, while monitoring key performance indicators and preparing regular reports. This position also supports the introduction of new styles, ensuring smooth line setup, ergonomic workstation design, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in industrial engineering principles, including time and motion study, method study, work measurement, and line balancing.
  • Ability to analyze production data, interpret KPIs, and use basic analytical or spreadsheet tools to support decision-making.
  • Familiarity with garment manufacturing processes such as cutting, stitching, finishing, and layout planning is highly preferred.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with production, quality, and maintenance teams on process improvements.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and willingness to be present on the shop floor to observe and refine processes.
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Industrial Engineering, Textile Technology, Production Engineering, or a related field.
  • Interest in lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies; prior exposure or certification is an advantage.
  • Ability to work on-site in Erode and adapt to a fast-paced, target-driven manufacturing environment.
