Job Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced and results-driven Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Manufacturing Automation & Digitization to lead the strategic implementation of digital systems across manufacturing operations. This role requires expertise in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Energy Management Systems (EMS), Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), and Operational Technology (OT) upgrades.
An added advantage would be hands-on experience in capital projects as an Automation and Instrumentation Lead, particularly in greenfield and brownfield project environments.
The SME will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive digital transformation, improve plant efficiency, enhance data-driven decision-making, and ensure seamless integration of automation systems across the enterprise.
Experience
10+ years of experience in manufacturing automation and digital systems within a regulated industry (preferably Pharma, Chemicals, or Life Sciences).
Key Roles/Responsibilities
- Lead MES, EMS, and CMMS Implementation: Drive end-to-end design, selection, and deployment of digital platforms across manufacturing sites.
- Define Digitization Roadmap: Develop strategic plans for digital transformation in collaboration with IT, engineering, and operations.
- Capital Project Leadership: Lead automation and instrumentation scope in greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Upgrade OT Infrastructure: Assess and modernize OT systems in line with Industry 4.0 standards, ensuring secure and scalable architecture.
- Act as Digitization SME: Provide expert guidance on automation and digital technologies to cross-functional teams.
- System Integration: Support seamless integration with SAP S/4 HANA PM, LIMS, QMS, SCADA, and other enterprise systems.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, engineering, production, and IT, to gather requirements, define processes, to align with CDMO pharmaceutical maintenance engineering needs.
- Identify and assess opportunities for manufacturing digitalization—such as CMMS, MES, EMS, and OT integration, and develop a strategic rollout plan that includes readiness evaluation, solution selection, implementation, and change management.
- Collaborate with IT and external consultants to resolve technical issues, implement system enhancements, and ensure the smooth operation of digitization initiatives.
