Job Description

Job Summary

Responsible for architecture, design, deployment, and troubleshooting of different software solutions. Interacts with the business and product teams to influence requirements. Responsible for integration with all business systems and applications. Works closely with the architecture and networking teams, to influence the design, validation, and deployments.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in the development, test, and operation of highly reliable services and software to model network entities and relationships that compose Equinix's global network.
• Contribute to APIs and services that expose data and insights from the unified network model – supporting customer-facing capabilities, operational troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and capacity planning.
• Participate in cross-team collaboration discussions to ensure alignment on software requirements and design trade-offs, while considering performance, scalability, and reliability factors
• Participate in development and operational best practices and standard methodologies
• Participate in an on-call rotation (when service is in Production)

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software development experience, with hands-on experience in Golang or a strong willingness and ability to develop in Golang
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, or other open-source alternatives
• Experience developing APIs or service integrations using technologies such as REST, gRPC, or similar frameworks. Exposure to network management interfaces or protocols such as Netconf is preferred.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols. Exposure to protocols such as ISIS, BGP, BMP, or LLDP is an advantage.
• Proficient in using continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies: Github Actions, ArgoCD
• Experience with agile software development practices including JIRA, peer reviews, Git, CI/CD
• Good to have: Experience in application design & development with Java technologies, with knowledge of Spring, JPA/Hibernate, Message Queues & Workflow Engines with layered-microservices architecture
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve distributed system issues
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey findings, recommendations, and technical details to various stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field

Preferred

• Background of working for SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, or cloud-based companies with prior experience of designing microservices and systems at scale with a focus on production readiness
• Experience with building software as a service, running services with 24x7 on-call rotations
• Experience with public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) services and technologies
