We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Network & Security L1 Engineer to support the daily operations of our IT network and security infrastructure. The ideal candidate will assist in monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network connectivity and security devices, ensuring high availability and secure operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor network devices, firewalls, and security appliances using monitoring tools.
- Provide L1 support for incidents and service requests related to network and security.
- Perform basic network troubleshooting (LAN/WAN, switches, routers, Wi-Fi).
- Assist in configuring and maintaining firewalls, VPNs, and access control lists under supervision.
- Respond to alerts and escalate incidents to L2/L3 teams when required.
- Manage user access, firewall rules, and network permissions as per standard procedures.
- Support installation, patching, and updates of network devices and security tools.
- Document network issues, resolutions, and changes in the ticketing system.
- Follow change management and incident management processes (ITIL framework preferred).
- Maintain compliance with company security policies and industry standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or equivalent qualification.
- 02 years of experience in IT/network/security support.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing & switching).
- Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, proxy servers, and security concepts.
- Exposure to tools like Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Sophos, or equivalent (preferred).
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of Windows/Linux server environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in 24x7 rotational shifts.
Certifications (Preferred but Not Mandatory):
- CCNA / CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Security+ / Fortinet NSE 13 / Palo Alto ACE
- ITIL Foundation certification
