What You'll Do
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting all the Factory Simulation projects across the Industrial & Electrical sector sites. The Factory Simulation Engineer will be part of a Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team enabling deployment of Discrete Event Simulations using ProModel or similar 2D/3D Simulation platform. Incumbent is also required to partner with Manufacturing Engineering, CI, Plant OPEX and Industry 4.0 teams globally to understand operations and gather necessary inputs for successful simulation deployment - Realizing the target productivity as a goal.
- Thorough knowledge of Industrial Engineering concepts and principles
- Working knowledge of Time and Motion study
- Must have experience with ProModel or similar simulation platform for Discrete Event Simulations
- Must have experience in performing hand calculations to validate simulation predictions
- Hands on experience in creating and using value Stream Mapping to derive require inputs for simulations
- Basic knowledge of process design and lean principles, manufacturing/assembly/warehouse operations
- Working knowlege of shopfloor level simulations including multiple lines and end to end material movement is preferred
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 and Automation Technologies would be preferred
- Participates in plant 3P, CI events and internal open innovation events to enhance simulation deployment
- Collaborate and partner with plant functions and Industry 4.0 team for successful implementation of line improvement scenarios
- Basic knowledge of Python based automation development / AI / ML is preferred
- Actual deployment with floor experience in mentioned areas is preferred
- Gets trained on internal systems & processes and implements them towards projects
- Experience / projects completed at Complete factory level model development & deployment is preferred
- Exposure to Robotic simulations would be a added advantage
Qualifications
Bachelors degree (with relevant experience) in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering
0-2 years for Bachelors as relevant industrial experience working with ProModel and other similar software platforms performing plant / line scale discrete event simulations
Skills
The engineer should be -
- Converasant with hands-on projects performing Discrete Event Simulations
- Sound knowledge of Industrial Engineering Concepts, Time & Motion study and Lean principles
- Should have worked with complete shopfloor level simulations and implemented throughput improvement scenarios
1) Ability to work in and with diverse & multi-cultural and geographically dispersed teams
- Ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams (Development Teams, product management, project management)
- Ability to present to various levels of manufacturing and business leadership globally.
