Technical Skills/Requirements
- 1-2 years of Experience in database administration DB2 z/OS database administration tasks
- Perform DB2 z/OS basic database administration tasks.
- Perform database upgrades and patches with SMP/E Tune/Modify database definitions (DDL, Configuration Parameters, DASD/SAN space).
- Technical consultation and troubleshooting Assist programmers/operators with error/abend diagnosis resolution. Analyze and review SQL.
- Interact with other IT and Business employees in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Capable of directing contractor resources
- Demonstrated experience in database administration skills of IBM DB2 z/0S on any of the versions v9, v10, v11, v12 .
- Exposure to JCL, TSO, ISPF
- Experience with VSAM , RACF
- Analytical problem solving mindset and good communication skills.
- Experience with IBM Database tools.
- Experience with any other database technology a plus.
Nature & Scope Of Job
- Responsible performing DB2 database administration tasks
- Perform database upgrades and patches.
- Identify performance issues, recommend/implement performance improvements.
- Perform/schedule database maintenance, maintain/execute backup and recoveries.
- Perform database on-call functions and participate in routine planned support and project activities.
- Meet deadlines for changes requested by clients/peer
- Work closely with data modeler, DBA and cross-functional team to deliver solutions to business
- Analyze trends to proactively prevent problems.
- Work with cross-functional teams across different geographies
