Job Description

The Energy Transition Practice is a specialized segment within PwC focused on helping organizations navigate the shift from traditional fossil fuel-based energy systems to more sustainable, low-carbon energy models. This practice leverages PwC's global network, industry expertise, and multidisciplinary teams to support clients across the energy value chain in addressing the complex challenges and opportunities presented by the energy transition.

Job Position Title:

Associate - Energy Transition

Responsibilities:

As an Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. The role focuses on advising clients in the energy sector on energy transition strategies, decarbonization pathways, and alternative fuels adoption by supporting client engagements, conducting research and analysis, and contributing to the development of actionable insights for clients navigating the shift to low-carbon energy systems.

Project Delivery

  • Support consulting projects on energy transition, net-zero strategies, and clean energy adoption.
  • Conduct market research, policy analysis, and benchmarking for emerging technologies (e.g., hydrogen, biofuels, CCUS).
  • Perform techno-economic assessments, financial modeling, and scenario analysis for energy projects.
  • Prepare client-ready deliverables including reports, presentations, and dashboards.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with peers & senior team members to ensure timely and accurate project execution.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for data collection and validation.

Knowledge Development

  • Contribute to internal research on energy transition trends, regulatory frameworks, and technology developments
  • Support proposal development and thought leadership initiatives

Mandatory skill sets:

  • Background in energy sector/ consulting, strategy, or related industry roles
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and presentation skills both oral and written
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with data visualization tools

Preferred skill sets:

Exposure to renewables, alternative fuels, and decarbonization projects

Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems.

Use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current industry or sector trends.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

Years of experience required:

1 4 years

Education qualification:

Bachelor's degree in engineering/ relevant field from a reputed college; Master's in technical field or MBA shall be preferred
