About the Role

With respect to technology knowledge

• Ensures IT service availability and minimises the AIA's business impact of IT service outages through the effective management.

• Contributes to the improvement of user satisfaction with IT services by ensuring that the arrangements remain aligned with business needs and priorities and fit for purpose.

• Improves the overall technical performance as measured by the technology related KPIs and SLAs (utilisation, availability, response times etc.) year on year

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Leadership:

• Develop and implement strategic roadmap for on-premises storage infrastructure & data backup solution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

• Recommend storage and data backup technologies and solutions from leading vendors to meet business needs.

• Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of storage systems and backup solutions to optimize performance and reliability.

• Lead a team of storage and backup specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure high levels of productivity and professional growth.

Storage Infrastructure Management:

• Ensure the team to perform the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of on-premises storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and hybrid solutions without any issues.

• Ensure optimal performance, availability, and capacity of storage infrastructure.

• Ensure the team to manage storage lifecycles, including upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning of legacy systems.

• Management responsible for the overall storage technology and services delivery to all business units.

Backup Infrastructure Management:

• Ensure the team to perform day-to-day operations of data backup services in a timely manner and accurate backups across the organization.

• Technical lead on backup tools and technologies, including but not limited to IBM TSM, VTL, DSI, and other enterprise-grade solutions

• Management responsible for the overall data backup solution and services delivery to all business units

Vendor and Technology Expertise:

• Evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors for storage and backup services, ensuring optimal service delivery.

• Stay updated on the latest advancements in technologies and evaluate their applicability to the organization.

Disaster Recovery and Data Protection:

• Design and implement robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions for on-premises storage systems & data backup systems.

• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry best practices.

• Ensure the team conducts regular testing and audits of disaster recovery processes.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

• Oversee system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.

• Present reports on utilization, performance, and incidents to senior management.

Security and Compliance:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, and compliance, to ensure effective data management and support for business operations.

Budget & Resource Management:

• Prepare and manage budgets for storage and backup management initatives, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource optimization.

Job Requirements

Relevant Experience:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in which at least 5 years in managerial position with regional coverage.
  • Hands on experience on position related technical components.

OR

  • An equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree holder of University on Information Technology or related discipline

Technical Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of storage technology and data backup solutions
  • Familiarity with storage and backup management tools and software
  • Strong understanding of data protection, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud storage integrations and cloud-based backup solutions is a plus
