Our growth plans:
We process close to 4% of the country's freight on our software platform. Our goal is to get to 20% of the country's freight by 2028. This gives us a bird's eye view of the market. We're already the largest road freight technology platform in the country and we plan to build on this base to drive growth in software, freight marketplace and supply chain financing to get to a 100M USD revenue by 2028.
This role owns that interface end-to-end. It sits at the intersection of commercial law, marketplace risk, and physical/operational security , and is the company's primary point of contact with police, civil administration, and the courts on all marketplace and field matters. It is a builder-operator role — not a back-office advisory seat.
Key responsibilities
- Legal & Litigation
- Own contractual frameworks for marketplace participants — transporter/fleet owner agreements, service contracts, SLAs, indemnities and liability allocation.
- Drive commercial recovery against defaulting distributors, transporters and channel partners using legal notices, Section 138 of the NI Act (cheque dishonour), and Summary Suits under Order XXXVII CPC.
- Manage the full litigation portfolio — civil, criminal and commercial — including selection and supervision of external counsel.
- Represent the company (or instruct counsel) in court trials, including criminal matters arising from theft, fraud and cargo loss.
- Law Enforcement & Civil Liaison
- Serve as the company's senior interface with Police, local administration and enforcement wings across states.
- File and follow through on FIRs for theft, pilferage, organised fraud and asset misappropriation; coordinate investigation support and chargesheeting.
- Manage high-escalation field situations — accidents, detentions, seizures, driver/transporter conflicts — under time pressure.
- Risk, Security & Loss Prevention
- Design and run loss-prevention and asset-protection frameworks across transit corridors, warehouses, ICDs and distribution nodes.
- Lead internal and external investigations into transit
- Plug ecosystem revenue leakages across the marketplace lifecycle — from pickup to delivery to recovery loops.
- Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable transport, motor-vehicle and marketplace regulations, and with PSARA/MHA norms where security personnel or vendors are engaged.
Who we're looking for
- This is a dual-background role. The successful candidate will be a practising/registered lawyer who has also served in one of the following:
- A commissioned career in the Indian Armed Forces (Army / Navy / Air Force), or
- A career as an IAS / IPS / allied civil-services or police officer.
That combination — legal qualification + uniformed/administrative service — is what gives this role its credibility with both the courts and the field, and it is non-negotiable.
Essential:
- LLB, with enrolment as an Advocate with a State Bar Council.
- Ex-Defence Officer or Ex-IAS/IPS/civil-services officer with a strong record in administration, security or enforcement.
- Industry exposure in logistics, transport, trucking, 3PL, fleet operations or freight-tech — someone who understands how fleet owners operate, how advances and placements work, and where the fraud sits.
- Proven experience interfacing with police and courts on theft/fraud/recovery matters.
Preferred / good to have:
- MBA (HR/IR, Operations or General Management) or PG Diploma in Materials Management / Supply Chain.
- Certifications in security or safety management (BCAS, PSARA, ISO 9001/14001, industrial safety).
- Experience building security or loss-prevention functions from the ground up across distributed, multi-state footprints.
Core competencies
- Sound commercial-legal judgement under operational pressure.
- Authority and composure in dealing with police, administration and aggrieved parties.
- Investigative rigour and an evidence-first mindset.
- Comfort with technology-led security (AI video analytics, IoT telematics, geofencing, access control).
- Direct, decisive communication with leadership.
