Job Purpose:

The GSC Strategy team designs the supply chains to bring world-class GSK medicines and vaccines to patients. The Strategy team is responsible for product and network strategy, including the delivery of strategic programmes. The One Strategy Team has a clear ambition to be the Best in Industry Strategy team of highly talented people.

This role provides programme management and expertise in project management related tasks for strategic programmes spanning multiple sites/products. The Programme Manager works closely with project sponsors and business leads to understand the scope and deliverables of programmes, mobilise project teams and support programme management.

This role also leads a team of Implementation Committee managers accountable for managing the implementation committees, for all Vaccines brands, in tracking and co-ordinating the market implementation strategies for changes having a regulatory impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with sponsors and business leads to understand and define the scope and deliverables of each project or programme.
  • Engage with functional teams to secure resources and mobilise cross-functional project teams.
  • Clarify roles and responsibilities within project teams and ensure compliance with GSK's programme and portfolio management structures and processes.
  • Establish standard project management oversight, including development of plans, tracking and reporting progress, risks, issues, and interdependencies.
  • Line management of the team of Implementation Committee (IC) managers, responsible for facilitating and leading the Implementation Committees for all vaccines brands.
  • Lead the team to develop and execute the IC plans; including day to day tracking, management of risks, issues and escalations.
  • Track IC deliverables using standard performance metrics.
  • Share best practices and provide support to other members of the project team. Provide coaching, mentoring, and leadership to team members for excellent project management.
  • Contribute to stakeholder engagement by identifying needs, issues, and concerns, and reacting to them to support communication of business information, project updates, and decisions.
  • Provide input to governance and portfolio oversight (e.g., steering teams, Monthly Performance Review) and governance papers to enable recommendations regarding project status, risks, issues, and escalations.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience of working across the supply chain.
  • Minimum 16 yrs of experience with proven expertise in driving complex , enterprise wide programs in Pharma Organizations.
  • Awareness of the supply chain or business area and key priorities to inform day to day activities in support of programme execution.
  • Excellent understanding of the framework within which a pharmaceutical product has to be maintained in compliance: Authorities / Scientific / Business
  • Good understanding of change control process.
  • Demonstrated project leadership and management skills.
  • Demonstrated effective communications skills both written & oral coupled with the ability to tailor to any one of a wide variety of audiences.
  • Attention to detail; a focus on output, content & delivery to ensure that there is tangible progress.
  • Agile and willingness to learn.
  • Capacity to adapt priorities, organization and promote change management. Ability to work with tight deadlines.
  • Experience with continuous improvement
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and use networks throughout GSK
