Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and organised professional to support the Early Careers Programme agenda for our bank globally. The Global Early Careers Development Pathways Lead is responsible for designing and integrating skills-aligned development pathways that translate business capability needs into structured, end-to-end development journeys across Early Careers populations.

The role ensures that development experiences are not built in isolation, but flow seamlessly from pre-joining through early career stages and connect coherently into broader enterprise development journeys across bands and career stages.

Working closely with business stakeholders, People Capability, and Talent Management, the role delivers the programme and converts strategic workforce objectives into scalable development pathway architecture that drives role readiness, productivity, and long-term talent progression.

The role combines project management, programmatic delivery stakeholder engagement across business leaders, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and People Capability teams globally.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • The role designs structured development pathways aligned to business objectives, enterprise skills frameworks, and role readiness requirements across all Early Careers segments, ensuring seamless flow from pre-joining through early career development and integration with broader enterprise development journeys across bands, avoiding siloed program design through connected pathway architecture.
  • The role creates coherent, engaging, and scalable development journeys that blend formal development modules, applied business projects, experiential development, coaching and mentoring, exposure opportunities, and skills assessments to accelerate readiness and long-term growth.
  • The role works in close collaboration with People Capability teams to enable development delivery and content execution, with Talent Management teams to align pathways with enterprise development frameworks, with Campus Engagement teams to connect pre-hire development with on-program journeys, and with program leads across segments to embed pathways consistently, while maintaining strong design governance and outcome ownership.
  • The role monitors the effectiveness of development pathways through readiness, performance, and progression metrics, continuously evolving pathway design based on business feedback, skills shifts, and workforce needs, while driving standardisation with appropriate flexibility for local market application.
  • Implement adoption of development plans and assessment criteria for successful programme completion
  • Identify and implement programme improvements through effective partnering with People capability & Programme Lead
  • Drive & implement EC programme improvements
  • Deliver EC programmes aligned to agreed measures of success
  • Monitor agreed KPIs / ROI measures, providing analysis and areas of improvement
  • Deliver hiring manager / business support and training
  • Deliver EC programme content at events and training output
  • Collaborate with C&C teams, global early careers team and global HR teams to align on consistent frameworks, value propositions, and governance models

Business

  • The role partners closely with business leaders and workforce planning teams to identify critical skills, capabilities, and experiences required for priority roles, map skills progression from entry-level through early career stages, and define development outcomes directly linked to role performance and productivity, ensuring development pathways remain commercially relevant and future-focused.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, Talent and People Capability functions, Lateral Recruitment, Diversity and Inclusion teams, and country HR teams to align outcomes
  • Build an understanding of business priorities and align the early careers program to meet long-term business needs, focusing on delivery of a structured, programmatic approach that supports workforce evolution and organizational strategy.

Processes

  • Hands-on delivery of the programme
  • Monitor and track success metrics, including reduced attrition, increased performance, high engagement, and accelerated career progression, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Support in overseeing structured programmatic journeys, including induction, assignments, development programs, and performance tracking, in partnership with People Capability, Talent team and business.
  • Identify suitable vendors to provide training and upskilling programme content

People & Talent

Act As The Secondary Interface Across Key Stakeholder Groups

Risk Management

  • Ensure effective identification, management, monitoring and reporting of risks is undertaken in line with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) in a way that is consistent with the authority and responsibilities of the role
  • Effective understanding of operational risks and compliance with all applicable internal policies, external laws and regulation

Governance

  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role
  • Track the effectiveness of the team's governance, oversight and controls and, if necessary, propose/implement changes in these areas
  • Use data and reporting to track success measures and impact of early careers programmes ensuring appropriate oversight of strategic and operational effectiveness metrics that are used to ensure a high performing culture and vision for early careers talent.
  • Engage with relevant audit report findings and ensure feedback is acted upon
  • Ensure that all approved HR investments and capital / project expenditure are managed within the agreed enterprise project management standards

Skills And Experience

  • Proven experience in delivering Training & Development programmes
  • Familiarity with digital development tools, platforms, and content creation is a plus.
  • Familiarity with project management tools
  • Proven experience in analysing data and reporting
