Job Description

Role Overview:

The Associate Director will lead the institution's brand strategy, digital presence, and communication ecosystem to enhance visibility, reputation, and stakeholder engagement. This role is responsible for driving integrated marketing initiatives, overseeing website performance, managing high-quality content development, and ensuring strong digital growth through SEO and analytics-driven strategies. The incumbent will also lead the communications team, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and consistent brand positioning across all channels.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Brand Building:

• Develop and execute comprehensive brand strategies aligned with institutional vision and growth objectives

• Strengthen institutional positioning across academic, research, and outreach domains

• Ensure consistency in brand messaging across all platforms (online & offline)

• Lead campaigns for admissions, rankings, reputation building, and thought leadership

2. Website Management & Optimization:

• Oversee end-to-end management of the university website (UI/UX, content, performance)

• Ensure website is updated, user-friendly, mobile-responsive, and SEO-optimized

• Monitor website analytics (traffic, engagement, conversions) and implement improvements

• Collaborate with IT/vendors for technical enhancements and security compliance

3. Content Strategy & Development:

• Lead content planning, creation, and distribution across platforms

• Ensure high-quality, engaging, and audience-specific content (web, social media, PR, brochures, reports)

• Maintain editorial standards, brand tone, and communication guidelines

• Drive storytelling initiatives showcasing institutional achievements, faculty, and students

4. Digital Marketing & SEO:

• Develop and execute digital marketing strategies with a strong focus on SEO, SEM, and performance marketing

• Improve organic search rankings, website visibility, and lead generation

• Manage campaigns across Google Ads, social media platforms, and email marketing

• Track campaign performance and ROI using analytics tools and optimize accordingly

5. Communication & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Lead internal and external communications ensuring clarity, consistency, and impact

• Manage PR, media relations, and institutional announcements

• Engage with key stakeholders including leadership, faculty, students, alumni, and external partners

• Ensure timely and effective crisis communication when required

6. Team Leadership & Management:

• Lead, mentor, and manage the communications and digital marketing team

• Set KPIs, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement

• Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance work culture

Qualifications:

• Any Postgraduate degree Communication, Media Studies, Journalism, Digital Media, Marketing, Management, or related discipline.

Experience and Skills:

• Minimum 15 years of experience in digital communication, website management, social media strategy, or internal communication roles, with significant leadership experience.

Technical Skill Set

• Strong understanding of SEO, SEM, and digital marketing tools (Google Analytics, Search Console, Ads Manager)

• Expertise in website management systems (CMS such as WordPress, Drupal, etc.)

• Knowledge of UI/UX principles and web performance optimization

• Proficiency in content strategy, copywriting, and editorial management

• Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools

• Data-driven decision-making using analytics and reporting tools

• Familiarity with social media platforms, campaign management, and digital advertising

• Basic understanding of HTML, web technologies, and integrations (preferred)
