Job Description

We are hiring Associate Director – Media Buying

Location: Mumbai

Experience Required: 8–10 Years

Job Overview

Media Buying & Rate Negotiation

• Assist in planning, negotiating, and executing media buys across channels (TV/Print/Radio/OOH/Digital depending on role level).

• Work with media vendors to secure the most competitive rates and high-value deals.

• Support in managing rate cards, deal structures, CPT/CPM analysis, and benchmarking.

Campaign Execution & Delivery

• Ensure timely release orders, booking confirmations, and campaign execution.

• Monitor campaign delivery and resolve any issues or discrepancies.

• Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to ensure 100% accuracy in implementation.

Financial Management

• Manage billing, PO tracking, invoicing, and monthly financial reconciliation.

• Ensure compliance with internal audit and financial hygiene guidelines.

• Track spends vs. plans and assist in reporting savings and efficiencies.

Vendor & Partner Management

• Maintain strong relationships with media partners and agency networks.

• Support in evaluating new opportunities, media innovations, and added-value offerings.

• Ensure vendor commitments and deal-level obligations are met.

Data, Reporting & Analytics

• Prepare weekly/monthly reports, market intelligence updates, and competitive analysis.

• Track buying efficiencies, deal performance, and media trends.

• Work with internal analytics tools and market data (BARC, IRS, RAM, etc., as applicable).

Collaboration & Coordination

• Work closely with Planning, Strategy, and Finance teams to align buying with client objectives.

• Support the senior investment team in deal-making and portfolio management.

• Participate in annual/quarterly deal negotiations and trading conversations where required.

Education Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Media, Mass Communication, Advertising, or a related field.

• 8–10 years of experience in media buying/investment across any major media platform (preferred).

• Strong understanding of media fundamentals, planning metrics, and market benchmarks.

• Working knowledge of tools such as BARC, IRS, RAM, TGI, etc. (depending on channel).

• Strong proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and presentation tools.
