Associate Director Information Systems - Server and Virtualization

We are seeking a proven leader with deep expertise in Compute (WINTEL & Linux) and Virtualization (VMWare, Nutanix, Citrix) Infrastructure Operations. The ideal candidate will have a track record of driving innovation and operational excellence in the biotechnology or similarly complex industry. This role involves leading global, cross-functional teams, managing 24/7 infrastructure operations, and executing strategic transformation initiatives in a matrixed environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of server and virtualization managers and engineers.
• Define and manage operational metrics, SLAs, and performance standards.
• Oversee enterprise server infrastructure performance and availability.
• Manage critical incident response and root cause analysis.
• Implement and maintain server security policies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation in server operations.
• Optimize resource allocation and shift planning for 24/7 coverage.
• Collaborate with global business stakeholders to align IT services with organizational needs.
• Generate detailed reports on infrastructure performance and incidents.

Basic Qualifications:

• Master's degree with 7+ years in server operations (minimum 5 years in leadership), OR
• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years in server operations (minimum 5 years in leadership), OR
• Diploma with 15+ years in server operations (minimum 10 years in leadership)

Technical Skills & Experience:

• In-depth knowledge of WINTEL and Linux OS, server security, networking, and storage.
• Proficient in virtualization technologies: VMWare, Nutanix, Citrix.
• Experience with monitoring, automation, and orchestration tools.
• Strong command over service level management and operational KPIs.
• Experience in incident and problem management processes.
• Familiarity with server orchestration platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Skills in automation tools like Ansible, PowerShell, Python
• Working knowledge of ITIL frameworks
• Familiarity with DevOps and infrastructure-as-code concepts

Certifications (Preferred):

• ITIL, PMP or other management certifications
• Technical certifications such as Microsoft Certified or RHCE
