Jubilant Biosys is looking for Associate Director - Discovery Biology (CNS) for Bengaluru location.
Qualification : PhD in Biology/ Biotechnology/ Pharmacology/ Genetics/ Molecular Biology or any Life sciences.
Experience : 12 to 15 years
Responsibilties :
- Driving the biology deliverables and managing CNStherapeutic area/projectof Biology labs.
- Delivering on client milestones by enabling high quality assays and ensuring data quality for drug discovery.
- Lead integrated discovery projects to deliver advanced leads and candidate drugs for clients
- Building and expanding biology capabilities including new technology and other functional initiatives that span across the organization from the Discovery Biology perspective.
- Heading the drug discovery in Biology from target selection to clinical candidate selection.
- Managing the in vitro screening and validation, development and optimization for CNS therapeutic area.
- Independent preparation and contribute to scientific publications, project reports/presentations.
- Effective lab management in order to manage the resources in an optimal manner and avoid the wastage.
- Ensure day to day activities which includes smooth running of the labs and responsible bringing, retaining and mentoring biologists, scientists.
- Handing both in in-house and collaborative projects with external stakeholders.
- Accountable for data quality and data turnaround.
- Providing cross functional leadership to the respective scientific platforms for preclinical screening and lead optimization, characterization of novel chemical entities as potential candidates for development
- Lead strategic initiatives to build novel technology platforms and disease area capabilities.
- Interfacing actively with clients to build collaborative partnerships
- Capex and costing evaluation of the lab requirements
- Represent the department in project team meetings
- Should propagate team spirit in the lab and coordinate with different internal customers.
- Manage the team and supporting the discovery projects and troubleshooting the Biology related problems.
- Encouraging collaboration with Chemistry, DMPK, Biology invitro research groups to support cohesive and build-in cross-functional scientific synergies for drug discovery process.
- Representing the department in the Leadership meetings.
- Provides leadership through structured mentoring, objective/ priority setting, performance appraisal, and individual development with the goal of improving the group's overall productivity and efficiency.
- Coordinating activities with peers to optimize accomplishment of corporate goals
