Job Description

This positionu00A0is responsible foru00A0leading the communications for the largest site for Lilly Indiau00A0i.e.u00A0Lilly Bengaluru communications team along with leading Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) charter for all three sites in Lilly India. This role will focus more on internal communications for the site with responsibilities to lead CSR across India.u00A0

While the role reports to Corporate Affairs leader, the role incumbentu00A0is required tou00A0collaborate closely with local site leaders from communications perspective and with overall One India leaders to drive CSR initiatives across India.u00A0

This role has people manager responsiblility for Lilly Bengaluru communications team (1-2 nos)

Internal Communicationsu00A0

  • Develop and execute a multi-channel internal communications strategyu00A0u2014 spanning executive communications, employee engagement, employer branding, and social media u2014 to effectively shape and amplify Lilly Bengaluruu2019s narrative in partnership with stakeholders and agency partners.u00A0

  • Own end-to-end communication channelsu00A0to ensure consistent,u00A0accurateu00A0messaging that aligns with company goals and reinforces a positive, values-driven culture.u00A0

  • Drive employee engagement and culture-buildingu00A0through targeted communication programs in collaboration with ERGs, promoting inclusion and connection across the site.u00A0

  • Lead the communications workstream for change management, evaluating and recommending innovative strategies for digital channels and stakeholder engagement to protect and strengthen Lillyu2019s reputation.u00A0

Lead Corporate Social Responsibility for One Indiau00A0

  • Architect and own the One India CSR strategyu00A0u2014 developing a cohesive, multi-year roadmap that integrates Lillyu2019s global ESG priorities with India-specific regulatory requirements and community needs, ensuring alignment across Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Gurugram sites into a unified, purposeful One India narrative.u00A0

  • Consolidateu00A0and rationalize the CSR portfoliou00A0u2014 conducting a structured review of existing initiatives, partnerships, and spends tou00A0identifyu00A0overlaps, gaps, and opportunities for greateru00A0synergy channelizing efforts towardsu00A0a focused set of high-impact themes tou00A0create sustainedu00A0andu00A0measurable societal value.u00A0

  • Build and govern a robust program management infrastructureu00A0u2014u00A0establishingu00A0clear governance frameworks, milestone tracking, partner accountability mechanisms, and cross-functional coordination processes to ensure seamless execution of all CSR initiatives across planning,u00A0logistics, content, and stakeholder engagement touchpoints.u00A0

  • Drive high-impact CSR storytelling and visibilityu00A0u2014 designing multi-channel communication campaigns that authentically amplify partner initiatives and community outcomes, building Lillyu2019s employer brand and social license tou00A0operateu00A0across India.u00A0

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and institutional accountabilityu00A0u2014 overseeing adherence to Indiau2019s CSR regulatory framework including mandatory disclosures, impact assessments,u00A0utilizationu00A0certificates, and Board-level reporting, whileu00A0maintainingu00A0ongoing audit readiness and strengthening corporate governance standards.u00A0

  • Create long-term community impact through strategic partnershipsu00A0u2014build deep, outcome-oriented relationships with implementation partners, NGOs, and government bodies that compound impact over time and position Lilly as a trusted corporate citizen in India.u00A0

Crisis & Issues Managementu00A0

  • Proactively manage and lead communications for significant incidents (pandemics, natural disasters) to ensureu00A0timelyu00A0and relevant delivery of information to all employees.u00A0

  • Enhance crisis management capabilities within the team, build healthy processes and governance to foresee and handle them skillfully.u00A0

Stakeholder Management & Strategic Partnershipsu00A0

  • Act as a trusted communications advisor to senior leadership to develop communications plans with supporting storylines.u00A0

  • Build network and collaboration with regional corporate communicators to share best practices and lessons learned.u00A0

  • Partner with leadership team to ensure communicationu00A0objectivesu00A0and initiatives are fully aligned to the countryu2019s strategicu00A0objectivesu00A0and support an enterprise focus and delivery of the Lilly India corporate narrative/voice.u00A0

Governance & Complianceu00A0

  • Develop andu00A0maintainu00A0processes and governance mechanisms to ensure compliance while enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of internal and external communications efforts.u00A0

  • Ensure internal communicationsu00A0comply withu00A0quality standards as well as legal,u00A0regulatoryu00A0and other privacy compliance policies/procedures.u00A0

Qualifications,u00A0Knowledgeu00A0and Experienceu00A0

  • Masteru2019s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, or related discipline.u00A0

  • Minimumu00A010+ years of relevant professional experience in high-profile corporate communications, employee communications, and public relations roles.u00A0

  • Provenu00A0track recordu00A0of working with senior executives and creating and implementing successful corporate communication strategies and programs.u00A0

  • Experience leading in a regulated and compliant industry. Solid understanding of the healthcare / pharmaceutical industry (desirable).u00A0

  • Experience working in a global organization and within a matrixed structure.u00A0

  • Must be comfortable with change and ambiguity.u00A0

  • Proficiencyu00A0in digital communications and social media skills ability tou00A0leverageu00A0analytics to measure andu00A0optimizeu00A0communications impact.u00A0

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure and within deadlines.u00A0

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels.u00A0

  • Domestic travelu00A0required. This role will require frequent travel to Gurugram and Hyderabad site.u00A0
