About The Role

We are looking for an Associate Director – Content Strategy to drive content decisions through audience insights, performance analytics and consumer behavior. This role will be responsible for shaping the content slate, optimizing content programming and maximizing user engagement on the platform.

Working at the intersection of Content, Product and Analytics, the role will translate data into actionable recommendations that influence content development, programming and user experience. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of storytelling, audience preferences and digital content consumption.

Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Development

  • Drive data-informed decisions across content development and commissioning.
  • Identify themes, genres, formats and storytelling patterns that resonate with audiences.
  • Build frameworks to evaluate content concepts and predict performance.
  • Recommend content opportunities based on audience demand, platform objectives and consumption trends.
  • Translate consumer insights into actionable inputs for content creators and production teams.

Content Programming & User Engagement

  • Own content programming strategy with the objective of maximizing engagement, watch time and retention.
  • Determine the optimal content mix, release cadence and programming priorities for different audience cohorts.
  • Partner with Product teams to improve content discovery and consumption experiences across the platform.
  • Make strategic decisions on content placement and prioritization to ensure users consistently discover relevant content.
  • Drive experimentation around packaging, metadata and user journeys to improve content consumption.
  • Continuously evaluate content performance and recommend interventions to improve platform engagement.

Performance Analytics & Insights

  • Monitor and analyze content performance across acquisition, engagement, retention and monetization metrics.
  • Conduct deep dives to understand drivers of success and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop dashboards, scorecards and reporting frameworks to track content health.
  • Lead experiments and A/B tests to validate content and product hypotheses.
  • Synthesize complex datasets into clear recommendations for business and creative teams.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product teams to align content strategy with user behavior and platform goals.
  • Partner with Content Production teams to influence concept development, storytelling and creative decisions.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Growth teams to optimize content positioning and audience targeting.
  • Present insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Audience & Market Intelligence

  • Develop a deep understanding of audience segments and evolving consumption patterns.
  • Track competitive trends and emerging opportunities within the entertainment ecosystem.
  • Build scalable frameworks for audience segmentation and content evaluation.
  • Generate insights that inform long-term content strategy and platform growth.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 7–10 years of experience in Content Strategy, Consumer Insights, Business Strategy, Analytics or related functions.
  • Experience in OTT, digital media, entertainment or content-driven businesses is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence business decisions through data and insights.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of audience behavior and digital content consumption.
  • Ability to translate data into clear and actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Product, Content and Analytics.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI or similar analytical tools is preferred.
