How will you make an impact in this role

In this exciting role within American Express Products Operations team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the organization's risk management and compliance efforts. You will leverage your analytical expertise and programming skills to build a robust reporting and monitoring infrastructure and transform manual processes, ultimately improving efficiency and decision-making across the organization. You will also support the development, deployment, and monitoring of predictive models and ML solutions that help drive business decisions across functions like credit risk, fraud detection, customer attrition, personalization, etc.Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong presentation skills, particularly in creating executive summary decks and Tableau dashboards for sharing strategies and progress to senior leaders
  • Highly analytical with critical thinking, ability to analyze large sets of data and distill into meaningful reports and documents to tell stories and drive specific outcomes
  • Work with business stakeholders (risk, operations, marketing, credit, etc.) to understand use cases, define requirements, and translate them into data science / ML solutions
  • Build, validate, and fine-tune machine learning models (classification, regression, clustering, time series, etc.)
Technical Skills:
  • SQL (SQL server, GCP/LUMI ) - Intermediate to Advanced
  • Python/Pyspark - Intermediate to Advanced
  • Knowledge on Google Cloud Computing (Big Query)
  • Dashboard Tools Tableau, Power BI
  • Hands-on experience with ML libraries / frameworks (scikit-learn, XGBoost / LightGBM / CatBoost, TensorFlow / PyTorch, etc.)
  • Experience with data manipulation, ETL, SQL, Pandas, NumPy
  • Understanding of evaluation metrics (ROC-AUC, precision/recall, F1, MSE, etc.)
  • Familiarity with industry / domain challenges in BFSI, e.g., credit risk, fraud detection, regulatory compliance, etc.
  • Passion for innovation and a desire to continuously learn and improve existing processes
  • Active listening skills, summarization skills and lateral thinking to uncover and react to emerging opportunities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to changing circumstances, and make decisions quickly and effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem formulation and solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advance knowledge in Google Cloud Computing (GCP) ecosystem
  • Hands-on experience with ML libraries / frameworks (scikit-learn, XGBoost / LightGBM / CatBoost, TensorFlow / PyTorch, etc.)
  • Knowledge of APIs and automation tools like Power Automate, Airtable, Powerapps
