Functional Overview

Enterprise Comms & MarTech Experiences (ECMX) is a global organization that sits within U.S. Consumer Services (USCS) and is American Express marketing services center of excellence with the charter of driving high quality, customer-first marketing that accelerates business growth through optimized go-to-market solutions and the development of best-in-class MarTech products & processes.

Purpose of the Role

The Associate will play a key role on Project Flywheel within the UMDL product team, enabling the delivery of standardized and actionable custom reporting and insights for marketing personas beyond Adobe Ecosystem. The role will focus on developing and maintainingPower BI dashboards and reports, partnering closely with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable reporting capabilities, and enabling consistent, data-driven decision-making across Flywheel-supported products.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models to deliver marketing performance insights
  • Translate business requirements into clear technical and reporting specifications in collaboration with product managers, marketers, and technology partners
  • Build and optimize data transformations, measures, and calculations to ensure accurate and timely insights
  • Work with large datasets in cloud and big-data environments to support reporting and analytics use cases
  • Develop a strong understanding of card member data, marketing metrics, and campaign performance to generate meaningful insights
  • Ensure data quality, performance optimization, and adherence to reporting standards and best practices
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring reports and improve efficiency through standardization
  • Support Agile delivery by participating in sprint planning, backlog grooming, testing, and release activities
  • Partner with technology and business stakeholders during end-to-end capability development, including UAT and production validation

Required Skills & Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Reporting roles
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling, dashboard design)
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (facts, dimensions, OLAP, star schemas)
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with structured and semi-structured datasets
  • Working knowledge of Big Data or cloud platforms (e.g., Hive, BigQuery, Spark/PySpark) is a plus
  • Basic statistical knowledge and ability to interpret trends and performance metrics
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred / Good to Have

  • Hands-on with PowerBI
  • Exposure to Agile / Scrum delivery models
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Experience with Adobe or Salesforce Customer Data Platforms (CDP)
  • Prior experience supporting marketing, campaign, or customer analytics use cases

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field
