Job Description

Edwards Lifesciences is expanding its global technology capabilities with the launch of a new IT Innovation Hub in Pune, India. The Hub strengthens the technology foundation that supports our business worldwide, working in close partnership with teams across regions to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions at scale. Designed as a long-term investment, the Pune Hub will advance newer digital capabilities such as automation, data, AI, and cloud, and will include roles spanning end user services, application development, and enterprise platform teams. Together, these teams will help Edwards operate more efficiently and accelerate innovation in support of our mission of advancing patient care.

We are a global enterprise organization managing complex systems across multiple business units. As we advance our application strategy and establish our IT Innovation Hub in Pune, India, we are looking to hire a strong Associate Developer proficient in development tools to join our dynamic global team. we are seeking an Associate Developer, IT Applications to serve as a technical contributor within the Enabling vertical. This role is critical to managing and modernizing our ERP ecosystem, reducing tool redundancies, and enabling scalable, efficient operations. The ideal candidate thrives in cross-functional collaboration, proactively identifies and resolves system bottlenecks, and delivers high-quality software solutions aligned with company and industry architecture and quality standards—making a meaningful impact in a patient-focused environment.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Support project development through execution of best practices in software development. Assist in projects and activities with accountability for successful completion within scope and ensure that project deliverables are consistent with architecture, quality, and security policies
  • Participate in the design, development and deployment of scalable technical solutions for the ERP ecosystems, including code optimization, reduction in customization, and AI-driven integrations, ensuring they are secure, performant, and adaptable to future needs
  • Manage defined set of business applications, technologies, or IT processes to ensure performance according to business needs, within end-to-end business processes, and IT standards and system performance (e.g., upgrades, functionality/capabilities, enhancements, security, validation and general maintenance)
  • Keeps abreast of technical innovation by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

What you'll need (Required):

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field (Master's degree is a plus but not required);
  • 1+ years of academic, internship, or project-based experience in software development, application development, data systems, or enterprise applications (college projects, capstones, and internships count).
  • Strong foundational knowledge of programming concepts, data structures, databases (SQL), and object-oriented design, with ability and willingness to learn enterprise ERP platforms such as JD Edwards (JDE).
  • Exposure (academic or internship level) to at least one development concept such as forms/reports development, API, backend logic, integrations, or batch processing.
  • Basic understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) concepts and development methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile/Scrum.
  • Ability to analyze problems, debug basic issues, follow documented procedures, and learn how to troubleshoot applications with guidance from senior team members.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail and eagerness to learn complex systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a global, cross-functional team.
  • This role is not a remote position. It requires onsite presence at the Edwards IT Innovation Hub in Pune, India with an overlap during morning hours of Pacific Time Zone (Irvine, CA)
  • Commitment to follow company policies, coding standards, security practices, and compliance requirements.

What else we look for (Preferred):

  • Exposure through coursework, labs, or internships to enterprise systems, ERP platforms, or business applications (JD Edwards exposure is a plus, not required).
  • Basic understanding of databases and integrations, such as SQL queries, file-based integrations (CSV/FTP), REST APIs, or web services at a conceptual or hands-on academic level.
  • Familiarity with concepts such as batch jobs, schedulers, queues, or background processing through coursework or project work.
  • Introductory knowledge of at least one business process area such as Finance, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain, gained through coursework, case studies, or internships.
  • Exposure to development or collaboration tools such as Git, Jira, Confluence, or similar tools used in academic or internship environments.
  • Curiosity and interest in learning AI-assisted development tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar platforms to improve productivity and learning.
  • Strong learning mindset, adaptability, and comfort working in a fast paced, evolving enterprise IT environment.
  • Ability to follow defined procedures, document work clearly, and seek guidance when needed while progressively becoming independent.
  • Interest in working within regulated environments (such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or manufacturing) with an understanding of the importance of quality, security, and compliance.
  • Adherence to all company rules and requirements (e.g., Environmental Health & Safety, security policies, workplace guidelines) and proactive participation in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
