Job Description

Associate Design - Fit and Technical

Key Responsibilities

  • Tech Pack Creation & Specification Development

Build measurement charts from design sketches, reference samples, or images. Define grade rules, tolerances, and construction details.

  • Pattern Engineering

Collaborate on pattern development and adjustments (manual or CAD using Optitex, Gerber, Lectra) across all men's categories—tees, hoodies, joggers, shirts, outerwear, and bottoms. Provide fabric yield and consumption sheets.

  • Sample & Fit Management

Lead proto, fit, size-set, and PPS sessions. Document fit comments, mark-ups, and strike-offs. Drive corrective actions with vendors until Gold Seal approval is achieved.

  • Fabric & Garment Testing

Define and interpret FPT & GPT standards (e.g., handle, shrinkage, pilling, colourfastness, seam strength). Coordinate with labs and mills for corrective actions.

  • Vendor Interface

Guide supplier pattern rooms (domestic and overseas) to ensure adherence to brand fit blocks, tolerance levels, and performance standards.

  • Data & PLM Discipline

Maintain spec packs, pattern files, and test records in PLM / Google Drive to ensure cross-functional teams have access to a single source of truth.

  • Continuous Improvement

Analyze wearer trials and product returns. Recommend fit block refinements and new pattern solutions to enhance comfort, mobility, and travel-friendly features.

Required Profile

  • Education: Diploma/Degree in Apparel Technology, Fashion Technology, or equivalent
  • Experience: 7–12 years as a Fit/Pattern Technician in menswear; experience with multi-category fashion retailers (e.g., Reliance Trends, Westside)
  • Technical Mastery:Advanced pattern making, grading, and marker planning (manual + CAD)
  • Strong knowledge of knit & woven constructions, performance blends, stretch & recovery
  • Expertise in spec-sheet creation, grading rules, and tolerance setting
  • Familiarity with FPT & GPT standards, lab protocols, and root-cause analysis
  • Experience in consumption optimization and cost engineering
  • Tools: Gerber/AccuMark, Lectra, Optitex or similar; Excel/Google Sheets; PLM systems (Centric, Enovia, etc.)
  • Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, strong technical communication (verbal & written), vendor coaching ability, analytical mindset, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
