The IT4IT Associate Data Engineer role is part of the OIC IT4IT Data Excellence, Intelligence and Reporting team and will support the IT4IT Data Manager in providing DevSecOps support for Data Excellence, Intelligence and Reporting activities to the IDT function in support of the IT Value Chain processes in the areas of Strategy to Portfolio, Requirements to Deploy, Request to Fulfil, Detect to Correct. Where required the IT4IT Data engineer will also support the Data Excellence agenda in the IT4IT domain.

What You'll Be Doing

The IT4IT Associate Data Engineer Applies techniques such as business intelligence (BI), reporting and data modelling, analytical techniques and big data processing to provide the IT4IT Process domain with relevant information to enable our Powering progress agenda, improve operational efficiency, optimize IT4IT programs, respond quickly to emerging trends.

  • Provides operational and functional support to the IT4IT community on creating, storing, managing and maintaining information in all its forms, including the ability to incorporate policies and procedures for centrally managing and sharing information among different individuals, organizations and information systems throughout the information life cycle.
  • Manages key elements of one or more data engineering projects.
  • Team member in defining and builds the data pipelines that will enable faster, better, data-informed decision-making within the business.
  • Supports the implementation of a new big data solution which supports high amounts and velocity of data and supports future growth.
  • Works with latest developments, testing and deployment techniques to support the deployment of new releases to E.g., deploy new data pipelines and add data sources.
  • Delivers on responsibilities for Sprint deliverables, when required. Guides stakeholders in understanding analyses / outcomes and using them.
  • Helps IT4IT to find the right answer to solve their problems, to determine feasible solutions contributing to develop new delivery models.
  • Influential at team level through oral presentations, business cases and investment proposals.
  • Supports stakeholders by gathering, analyzing and modelling data and key performance indicators of moderate to high complexity.
  • Works as a key member of a Team to develop and deploy innovative big data platforms for advanced analytics and data processing.
  • Works under broad guidance and supervision by Manager and Senior Team Member(s) for complex activities.
  • Work with IT stakeholders in a virtual, geographically dispersed and cross-cultural environment. Work in close co-ordination with Centers of Excellence Leads, Architects and Portfolio and Program colleagues.
  • Work with IRM and Solution Architecture in data privacy assessment and data security aspects which ensures we achieve the goal of secured Information and Digital operations.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's in Information Technology or related degree with minimum 3 years experience in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Data Lake Store (ADLS), Azure SQL
  • Basic understanding of working and usage of any data platforms, preferably on cloud.
  • Some data analytics knowledge, tool experience in PowerBI
  • Understand Agile, Scrum methodology and have knowledge of DevOps team.
  • Excellent listening skills together with a proactive and inquisitive mindset
  • Eagerness and willingness to explore, learn, and seek new knowledge and experiences.
  • Ability to understand the business and context, building an outside-in view and a continuous drive for improvement and growth.
  • Support where necessary data literacy programs to increase the organization data awareness and help in building citizen data professionals within the IT4IT domain

Nice to have:

  • Detail oriented/self-motivated with the ability to learn and deploy new technology quickly.
  • Have knowledge of Azure DevOps and release management tools: release management coordination, managing builds through GitHub, Test, UAT through to production.
  • Understand how to automate builds for developer environments from development through production within a Continuous Delivery model
