Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Entry-Level Power BI Developer/Support Person to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow your skills in developing and supporting Power BI solutions. You will work closely with experienced professionals, collaborate on data visualization projects, and provide technical support to end users. This position offers an excellent entry point into the world of business intelligence and data analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and senior developers to understand requirements and contribute to the design and development of effective data visualizations.
- Support the creation and management of data models, including DAX calculations and measures, to enable business analytics.
- Assist in optimizing Power BI solutions for performance, usability, and scalability.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting to end users, addressing report creation, data connectivity, and functionality questions.
- Contribute to the implementation of data governance practices, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance.
- Collaborate with the team to document data visualization processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Learn and stay updated with the latest Power BI features, capabilities, and industry trends.
- Support data validation and quality assurance activities, ensuring accurate and reliable reporting outputs.
- Take part in training and development activities to enhance Power BI skills and expertise.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Relevant certifications or coursework in data analytics are a plus.
- Basic understanding of data visualization concepts and the importance of data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity (two years) with Power BI or other business intelligence tools is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with data querying and manipulation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eagerness to learn and develop new technical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of data governance, data quality, and security principles.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or coursework in data modeling, database design, or data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of data integration and ETL processes.
- Understanding of relational databases and data management principles.
