Role Overview

The Green Education Educator will play a core academic and delivery role in strengthening IGBC's Green Education vertical. The position focuses on designing, upgrading and delivering sustainability‑focused curricula, certification programmes and capacity‑building initiatives for students, faculty and industry professionals.

The role aligns directly with IGBC's mission to build a large pool of industry‑ready green building professionals and strengthen industry–academia linkage. [igbc.in]

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum & Course Development
  • Design, develop and continuously upgrade green education programmes and courses aligned with IGBC focus areas such as:
    • Green Buildings & Built Environment
    • Energy Efficiency & Water Efficiency
    • Sustainable Materials & Green Products
    • Indoor Environmental Quality
    • Life Cycle Assessment and Net Zero concepts
  • Improve and update existing IGBC curricula, course content, presentations, case studies and learning resources
  • Ensure alignment with IGBC rating systems, tools and certification frameworks [igbc.in]
  • Programme Delivery & Teaching
  • Deliver training programmes, certification courses, workshops and webinars for:
    • Students (UG/PG)
    • Faculty members
    • Working professionals and industry participants
  • Conduct Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), student certification courses and professional trainings as part of IGBC Green Education initiatives [igbc.in]
  • Adapt teaching methodologies for online, hybrid and classroom formats
  • Academic & Institutional Engagement
  • Coordinate with universities, engineering and architecture colleges, faculty and academic leadership to support curriculum integration and elective programmes
  • Enable industry–academia collaboration by aligning educational content with industry needs and emerging sustainability trends [igbc.in]
  • Support outreach and onboarding of institutions into IGBC Green Education programmes
  • Content, Knowledge & Research Support
  • Develop technical notes, concept papers, assessments, quizzes and certification frameworks
  • Track emerging trends in green buildings, climate action, net zero, sustainability education and policy
  • Support creation of new educational offerings in line with national sustainability goals and market demand
  • Programme Promotion & Support
  • Support programme promotion, techno‑marketing and stakeholder communication
  • Assist internal teams with presentations, proposals and academic documentation
  • Contribute to post‑programme reports, feedback analysis and continuous improvement
Requirements

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in:
    • Architecture / Civil Engineering
    • Environmental Engineering / Sustainability
    • Energy, Climate or Built Environment–related disciplines
  • PhD preferred (or strong academic and teaching credentials)
Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of combined academic, training and/or industry experience
  • Proven experience in:
    • Teaching / training / curriculum development
    • Sustainability, green buildings, energy or environmental domains
  • Exposure to IGBC / LEED / green building frameworks is highly desirable
Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong teaching, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Ability to design and deliver programmes independently
  • Strong technical and academic grounding in sustainability and built environment
  • Comfort with travel to campuses and programme locations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills
