Job Description

About GroMo

GroMo is building India's largest agent-led financial product distribution network. Our GroMo Partners (GPs) across Tier 2/3/4 India earn by selling financial products — savings accounts, demat accounts, credit cards, loans, and insurance — to customers in their communities.

Role

As an Associate Category Manager, you will own the growth and profitability of your assigned financial product categories. You'll manage relationships with external partners, ensure GPs always have competitive products and payouts to sell, and use data to find and fix every leak in the funnel. This role sits at the intersection of business, product, and analytics — ideal for someone who wants end-to-end ownership early in their career.

Responsibilities

  • Own category P&L — track revenue, payouts, and margins, and drive monthly growth targets for your categories.
  • Partner with internal teams (Product, Marketing, Procurement) to develop and execute category strategies.
  • Manage brand partner relationships with banks, NBFCs, and other financial institutions to ensure product availability, offers and competitive pricing.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
  • Analyze and develop models to drive data-backed decisions and strategies to optimize product availability and pricing.
  • Monitor category performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and present findings to leadership.
  • Use out-of-the-box thinking to develop and implement solutions to unique challenges
  • Work cross-functionally in a dynamic, fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience in category management, business analytics, consulting, or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills — you're comfortable living in spreadsheets and building simple models to back your decisions.
  • Structured communication — you can run a partner call and present to leadership with equal ease.
  • Ownership mindset and comfort with ambiguity in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Good-to-haves:
  • Working knowledge of SQL (Redshift/BigQuery) or comfort using it via AI tools.
  • Prior exposure to fintech, broking, or banking products.
  • Sales or partner-facing experience.
  • Immediate availability to join.
