Job Description

Associate Manager - Campaign | MAF Retail

Role Purpose:

The Associate Manager - Campaign will serve as the execution backbone of the Campaign Management team, working closely with the Manager - Campaign. The role holder will be responsible for ensuring that all campaigns are executed seamlessly, on time, and in full.

This is a high-ownership, high-coordination role for someone who thrives on structure, cross-functional collaboration, and getting things done. The Associate will manage campaign timelines, coordinate across internal and external stakeholders, maintain campaign trackers and dashboards, and serve as the day-to-day connective tissue that keeps our marketing engine running smoothly across all markets.

Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Campaign Execution & Coordination

  • Own the day-to-day execution of campaigns across digital and physical channels, ensuring all workstreams progress against agreed timelines and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal teams - retail operations, e-commerce, CRM, performance marketing, creative - and external agencies to ensure seamless campaign delivery.
  • Track and follow up on campaign deliverables, flagging delays or blockers to the cross functional teams proactively.
  • Ensure all campaign assets (creatives, copies, push notifications, WhatsApp, SMS, email) are reviewed, approved, and deployed on schedule.
  • Support the setup and QA of campaign mechanics across channels — including app banners, landing pages, and digital activations.

Project Management & Timelines

  • Build and maintain detailed campaign workback schedules, tracking all dependencies from brief to post-launch analysis.
  • Maintain the live campaign tracker covering status, ownership, timelines, and deliverables across all active campaigns.
  • Identify execution risks early and escalate to the management with proposed solutions.
  • Schedule campaign kick-off meetings, status check-ins, and cross-functional syncs, preparing agendas and capturing actions.

Cross-Functional Stakeholder Coordination

  • Act as the day-to-day point of contact between the campaign team and internal stakeholders including e-commerce, retail ops, CRM, digital, and creative/agency teams.
  • Ensure that all campaign inputs, approvals, and sign-offs are received from the right stakeholders at the right time.
  • Coordinate with onsite and commercial teams to gather promotional inputs, pricing, and product details required for campaign execution.
  • Liaise with creative agencies and production teams to manage asset delivery timelines and quality.

Campaign Documentation & Reporting

  • Support the creation of campaign briefs, ensuring all relevant inputs (objectives, audience, channel plan, timeline, success metrics) are captured clearly.
  • Compile post-campaign performance data from relevant teams and platforms, and support the preparation of post-campaign reports and retrospectives.
  • Maintain an organised repository of all campaign documentation — briefs, approvals, workback schedules, reports, and learnings.
  • Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly campaign performance summaries for internal stakeholders.

Process & Governance Support

  • Support the Manager - Campaign in building, maintaining, and continuously improving campaign management templates, playbooks, tools, and SOPs.
  • Ensure campaign governance processes (approvals, documentation, sign-offs) are followed consistently across all campaigns.
  • Champion process discipline across teams, nudging stakeholders to meet deadlines, complete approvals, and follow agreed workflows.
  • Identify process gaps, proactively flag issues & suggest improvements to the Campaign Manager.

Human Capital Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of the performance management process by setting objectives, monitoring performance, and provide constructive feedback and provide inputs to senior management
  • Provide inputs on training needs and coordinate with the HC department to ensure facilitation of training requirements
  • Ensure the implementation of MAF Retail's corporate policies and relevant procedures

Definition of Success

  • All active campaigns are tracked, coordinated, and executed on time and in full while closing coordination gaps.
  • A live, always-updated campaign tracker and calendar that gives the team complete visibility of ongoing and upcoming campaigns.
  • Clear, well-documented campaign briefs, workback schedules, and post-campaign reports maintained for every campaign.
  • Smooth, proactive cross-functional coordination, stakeholders consistently know what is needed from them and when.
  • Post-campaign learnings captured and fed back into the planning process, improving future GTM execution.

Functional/Technical Competencies

  • Strong command on project management, GTM strategy, experience in building and managing campaign/launch trackers.
  • Working knowledge of marketing channels: digital (performance, CRM, push, WhatsApp, email, social) and offline (in-store, POS, BTL).
  • Ability to read and interpret basic campaign performance data (CTR, conversions, engagement rates) comfort working with dashboards and reports.
  • Experience coordinating creative and production workflows, managing asset delivery from external agencies and internal teams.
  • Familiarity with omni-channel campaign execution in retail, e-commerce, F&B or FMCG environments is a plus.
  • Basic proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel/Google Sheets for maintaining trackers, compiling data, and supporting reporting.

Personal Characteristics and Required Background:

Minimum Qualifications/education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. (MBA)

Minimum experience:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in a marketing, campaign coordination, or project management role.
  • Prior exposure to retail, e-commerce, QSR, or FMCG marketing environments preferred.
  • Hands-on experience coordinating campaigns across multiple stakeholders and channels.

Skills:

  • Exceptional organisational skills - able to manage multiple campaigns and workstreams simultaneously without losing detail.
  • Strong cross-functional coordination and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication, comfortable facilitating meetings, writing briefs, and managing follow-ups.
  • Proactive, ownership-driven mindset, anticipates problems and acts before being asked.
  • High attention to detail in documentation, timelines, and deliverable tracking.
  • Collaborative team player who can work effectively across diverse functions and geographies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-market retail environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong English language skills (Speaking, Reading and Writing) with exceptional business writing, Arabic is a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
