Role Overview
We're looking for a detail-oriented and curious Associate Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with senior team members to:
- Build and maintain BI dashboards and reports
- Analyze business data and performance
- Translate data into actionable insights for clients
This is a great opportunity for someone with internship, academic, or project experience in data/BI who wants to build a strong foundation in real-world analytics and business intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and developing dashboards and reports using a BI tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Superset, etc.).
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, clean, and prepare data from various sources.
- Use Python for data manipulation, analysis, and automation of recurring tasks where needed.
- Support data preparation and transformation activities (joining, cleaning, reshaping datasets).
- Work with senior analysts/consultants to understand client requirements and translate them into BI/analytics tasks.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and proper documentation of your work.
- Contribute to internal reports such as sales analytics, lead tracking, or project performance dashboards.
Who Can Apply
Anyone who has:
- Completed internships, academic projects, or freelance/bootcamp projects in data analysis, BI, data science, or related areas.
- Built at least one end-to-end project involving data cleaning, analysis, and visualization (can be academic or personal).
Must-Have Skills
- Hands-on knowledge of SQL (any relational database such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, SQL Server, etc.).
- Or Hands-on knowledge of Python (Pandas, NumPy, basic data manipulation and analysis).
- Experience with at least one BI tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Superset, or similar).
- Basic understanding of data modeling and working with multiple data sources.
- Ability to clearly document your work and communicate your findings.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience working with APIs, Excel, or cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Azure SQL, etc.).
- Familiarity with basic statistics and business metrics.
- Prior experience (even as a project) in building dashboards for real or realistic business use cases.
Work Mode & Location
Hybrid role: 3 days Work From Office at BHive Premium Campus, AKR Tech Park, Kudlu Gate, Bengaluru.
Remaining days remote/flexible as per project schedule.
Interview Process
- Online Round SQL & Python Basics + BI Fundamentals
MCQs / Short problems to assess your comfort with SQL, Python, and BI concepts.
- Online Round Open-Book Practical Task
Build a small BI/analytics solution or dashboard (using any BI tool) based on a sample dataset. You can use Python/SQL as needed.
- Online/Offline Technical Discussion
Deep dive into your project/task, SQL approach, Python usage, and how you think about BI and problem-solving.
- Online/Offline Final Connect Technical & HR Discussion
Fitment, expectations, and career growth discussion with the Founder & team.
