Job summary


As the Control Manager - Associate within the team, you will drive governance, controls, and risk management for Market Sales & CEM Trading teams in India. You will identify control gaps, implement firm-wide policies, and manage operational risk, working closely with risk and control experts across the region.

The Business Control Manager will oversee and enhance the control environment for Markets Sales and CEM Trading teams in India. This role partners with business executives and support groups to drive strategic control initiatives, manage operational risk, and ensure regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will represent front office interests, execute supervisory controls, and facilitate the implementation of firm-wide policies. The position requires strong stakeholder management, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.

Job responsibilities

  • Own and deliver strategic control initiatives for the business
  • Drive the control agenda to identify and remediate control gaps
  • Review and implement key firm-wide policy reviews
  • Execute ad hoc analytical requests, control deep dives, and resiliency projects
  • Oversee issue and action plans, ensuring risks are mitigated and closed
  • Identify, escalate, and record operational errors and perform risk analysis
  • Lead thematic reviews to improve control environment and address regulatory concerns
  • Collaborate with location controls on regulatory governance and attestations
  • Review and substantiate control ratings and risk results
  • Facilitate execution of supervisory controls, attestations, and exception management
  • Guide the business through audits, compliance testing, and regulatory exams

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics or other related disciplines
  • Highly motivated, energetic self-starter with ownership mindset
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and process re-engineering skills
  • A broad understanding of Markets business and products and transaction lifecycles in key product types
  • Strong attention to detail and investigative mindset
  • Skill and experience using Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team player with partnering and influencing skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Previous experience in controls or business management
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Investment Banking (Markets Business) or Finance sector experience
  • Prior exposure to regulatory exams and audits
  • Investigative mindset with ability to see both high-level and detailed issues
  • Experience in operational risk management frameworks
  • Ability to manage control and operational risk evaluation processes
  • Experience in front office supervision tools and processes
