Are you a dedicated junior to mid-level Associate, with expertise and experience in corporate matters, looking for your next challenge in a truly global law firm Then this could be the role for you! We are looking for an Associate (1-3 PQE) to join our highly regarded global Corporate team, based in our Singapore office.

Our Firm

Squire Patton Boggs is one of the world's strongest integrated law firms, committed to providing insight at the point where law, business and government meet. We deliver commercially focused business solutions to a diverse mix of clients, from long-established leading corporations to emerging businesses, start-up visionaries and sovereign nations.

With over 1,500 lawyers spanning more than 40 offices across four continents, the firm is renowned for its local connections and global influence, delivering comprehensive legal services across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and Latin America.

Our Team

Located in a commercial center of growing importance, our Singapore office is positioned to help clients take advantage of the opportunities afforded by increasingly open and broad Asia Pacific markets.

Our global Corporate practice provides comprehensive legal services spanning all aspects of complex local, cross-border and multi-jurisdictional corporate, transactional and regulatory matters. Our corporate transactions team is supported by our lawyers around the world with expertise in all relevant practice areas and by the deep expertise of our multi-disciplinary industry groups.

Joining our Corporate team in Singapore will give you the opportunity to build your experience and develop your career across all areas from mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital markets (debt and equity), venture capital investments and private and public offerings across the international capital markets. You will also gain exposure to a broad range of regulatory and market access matters, including licensing and regulatory approvals, foreign investment regimes and other complex regulatory issues affecting clients operating in highly regulated sectors or expanding into developing markets across Asia Pacific.

You will work with a range of clients, from start-ups and emerging growth companies to multinational organizations, with the team being particularly active in the areas of telecommunications, technology (including biotech, fintech and digital infrastructure), financial services and life sciences.

Our Opportunity

You will be working directly with a well-respected Partner in our close-knit Singaporean Corporate team, which works as a key part of our international Corporate practice. You will be part of a team that encourages personal skill development and growth, which we believe really stands out from the rest of the market.

Our Corporate team is expanding and this is an exciting time to join Squire Patton Boggs with the opportunity to get involved in a varied and dynamic workload with plenty of opportunities for direct client contact from an early stage. We are looking for outgoing and innovative people with a commercial attitude along with a confident and proactive approach, strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, excellent organizational abilities, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while working effectively and collaboratively as a team player.

There will be opportunities for individual advancement and professional development within the team and candidates should expect exposure to excellent quality of work in a culture which encourages leadership and meaningful involvement with the business and its clients.

You

Ideally, we are looking for an individual with 1-3 years of experience across a broad range of corporate areas including capital markets, M&A, venture capital and private equity. You will have excellent academic credentials, with the drive and ability to deliver high-quality work, take initiative and demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and accountability in your work. You will be proactive, resourceful and highly motivated, and able to work effectively under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced international practice.

You will be a confident individual who is eager to build long-lasting relationships with clients and potential clients and other advisers. Ideally, you will come from a well-recognised international practice (preferably in Singapore) and be Singapore, English, US or Australian qualified. Experience working with clients across telecommunications, technology and financial services sectors, or advising on regulatory, licensing and market access matters would be an advantage.

You will be comfortable working in a collaborative team environment, possess strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills, and enjoy working closely with clients and other advisers. The ideal candidate will be capable of supporting multiple matters and workstreams simultaneously, maintaining strong attention to detail while effectively prioritising competing demands, as well as taking a proactive approach to progressing assigned tasks, monitoring timelines, following up on outstanding actions and helping to ensure matters progress efficiently and deadlines are met. The ability to work effectively on complex, time-sensitive transactions and regulatory matters is essential.

Given the breadth of the team's work, the successful candidate should be open to working across a broad range of corporate, transactional and regulatory practice areas. We are looking for someone who is intellectually curious, adaptable and willing to learn new areas of law and industry sectors as our clients needs evolve. Prior experience in every area of the team's practice is not expected, but candidates should be comfortable developing new technical skills and taking on unfamiliar subject matter.

You will also possess excellent written and verbal English communications skills commensurate with those expected of lawyers practising at a well-recognised international law firm.
