Role Description The Assistant Production Manager – Press Shop is a full-time, on-site role based in Khanjhawala. This role supports day-to-day operations of the press shop, including supervising machine operators, monitoring production schedules, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The individual coordinates material flow, oversees set-up and changeover of press machines, and assists in troubleshooting equipment issues to minimize downtime. The role includes maintaining production records, collaborating with design and quality teams on new products or process improvements, and guiding shop-floor staff to meet output and efficiency targets. The Assistant Production Manager is also responsible for implementing standard operating procedures, supporting inventory control, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Experience in press shop or metal fabrication production environments, with strong knowledge of machine operations and basic maintenance.
- Skills in production planning, workflow coordination, and meeting daily output and quality targets.
- Ability to implement and monitor safety practices, quality control procedures, and standard operating processes.
- Competence in documenting production data, preparing reports, and using basic computer applications for tracking and planning.
- Strong team supervision, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to guide and train shop-floor staff.
- Relevant technical diploma or degree in mechanical/production engineering or a related field; prior experience in furniture or manufacturing sector is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site in Khanjhawala and adapt to a fast-paced, hands-on production environment.
