Business Functions

Risk Management Group works closely with our business partners to manage the bank's risk exposure by balancing its objective to maximise returns against an acceptable risk profile. We partner with origination teams to provide financing, investments and hedging opportunities to our customers. To manage risk effectively and run a successful business, we invest significantly in our people and infrastructure.

Job Purpose

The job holder is responsible for ensuring overall quality of the Enterprise Banking and Consumer Banking credit portfolios by working on fraud control measures to ensure customers with genuine identity & creditability are approved & onboard.

Key Accountabilities

The primary responsibility of this role is to mitigate fraud risk across CBG and IBG-SME lending, ensuring that only genuinely identified and creditworthy customers are approved and onboarded.

  • Develop and Implement Fraud Controls: Drive robust and innovative fraud control and prevention strategies at the front-end, pre-disbursement, and post-disbursement stages.
  • Fraud System Expertise: Possess hands-on experience with fraud systems and platforms, including Experian Hunter.
  • Fraud Management Training: Establish and deliver comprehensive fraud management training to CRM, RAC, and RM teams, focusing on detection techniques and best practices.
  • Credit Referral Validation, Governance & Controls : Collaborate closely with branch CRMs to validate and act upon credit referrals triggered by suspicious or doubtful indicators.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Manage relationships with empanelled fraud vendors, overseeing periodic quality reviews, cost control, and adherence to Turnaround Times (TAT).
  • Automation and AI Integration: Champion automation and the integration of AI tools to enhance and improve the efficiency of existing processes.
  • Reporting and KPIs: Prepare MIS reports and survey reports, with adherence to TAT being a key performance indicator.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • The position will execute and carry out the agreed Fraud Framework as defined in approved SOP.
  • Ability to verify customer provided information & validation of doubtful suspect customer financial documents etc.
  • Need to handle day to day Experian Hunter tool for Mortgage loan / HL, Personal loan, SME loan & ability to build network in the industry to get timey alert and response from various financial institution.
  • The position will have its set of daily activities and a set of given monthly activities to be fulfilled.
  • The position will undergo detailed walkthrough and familiarisation on the IBG – SME & CBG – LAP, AHL and UL (PL & CC) products, process & program etc.

Requirements

Six to ten years of experience as cluster Manager or Area Manager in Bank (preferably in Bank Control Unit for LAP/ AHL/ UL (PL & CC) & SME).

Education / Preferred Qualifications

Professional qualification, graduate or post-graduate degree, preferably in business, accountancy, economics, finance etc. along with sound domain knowledge of fraud risk control measures for both SME and CBG markets.

Technical Competencies

  • Sound knowledge of financial statement analysis and accounting policies/ practices. Familiarity with financial terms, KYC documents, etc is a must.
  • Good knowledge of fraud control methods, experience in handling Experian Hunter, other tools & techniques.
  • Have an established local network in the Indian Banking market.
  • Sound understanding of regulatory guidelines issued by RBI (local regulations in India), MAS and local laws and regulations that impact businesses in general and fraud control measures in particular.
  • Preferred collections / credit / operations / process understanding.
  • Good knowledge of various banking products and risks associated with them, especially consumer loans and SME products.
  • Knowledge of multi market especially North / East / South essential

Work Relationship

Good working relationship with CBG LAP, AHL, SME / CCG Relationship team, CCU, Credit, Operation, other product teams (GTS, T&M etc), RBI inspectors, regulators and other external agencies.
