Assistant Vice President - PE Close and Reporting
In This Role, You Will
- Responsible for maintaining documentation per RCA and SOX requirement. Ensure SOPs are updated all times and tested by back ups. Ensure testing of processes per BC plan
- Ability to manage and lead the Ledger close and Financial Reporting process. Adherence to Group policies (FIM/DIM), IFRS reporting requirements, audit, controls and compliance requirements. Robust back up planning for uninterrupted service delivery
- Presenting financial report to senior stake holders for their review and signoff. Responsible for meeting the defined SLAs, managing good relationship with the stakeholders, maintaining and developing robust controls in the process
- Ensure adherence to audit, assurance and compliance requirements. Ensure high quality of output is delivered e.g. financial data in the reports etc. is accurately and correctly presented
- Global Finance is integral to HSBC's purpose and strategy, playing a valued role in managing finances and costs and deploying capital in the most effective way. Finance Operations ( FinOps ) is core to global Finance and provides a variety of financial support services to Financial Control (In-Country) teams across the HSBC Group.
- The current open position is in Financial Accounting team that involves period end close, accounting controls, balance sheet substantiation and Financial Reporting leading into IFRS, FINREP, GSIB & CE reporting which is a key input into the Group Financial/Regulatory Reporting process.
- The role holder will be responsible for leading and managing the period end close process along with Saracen reporting and Balance sheet reconciliation & substantiation. In addition to leading and supervising the team's performance and managing stakeholders, the role holder is required to drive strategic & tactical transformation within the process.
- Role holder will be part of monthly connect with in-country colleagues & change management forums as appropriate, to ensure all the relevant updates/changes are implemented in timely manner.
To Be Successful You Will
- CA/MBA with 10+ years of qualification experience; working in Financial Services Industry in ledger close and reporting processes
- Prior experience on IFRS/Finrep Reporting is must. High level understanding of risk & controls / compliance
- Good understanding of FTP, Saracen, Tableau. Project management / PowerPoint and presentation skills
- Strong technical understanding of accounting principles and demonstrated competence in their application
- Experience of interacting with internal and external auditors. Experience of assurance and compliance reviews/ SOX related reviews preferred
- Knowledge of automation tools like Python, Xceptor will be an added advantage.
- Must have an analytical bent of mind and ability to work for solutions to the adhoc queries.
- Prior experience of working on any: Workflow solutions such as Appian;Data visualization tools such as Qlik Sense;
