Job Description – Associate Vice President (AVP)
Position Title: Associate Vice President – Finance
Location: Bangalore
Role Overview:
The Associate Vice President (AVP) – Finance is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing financial operations, statutory compliance, reporting, governance, and strategic financial planning for the organization. The role demands strong technical expertise, stakeholder management, and the ability to ensure process excellence across Finance, Compliance, Audit, Intercompany, MIS, and Business Planning.
This role acts as a key business partner to management and plays a critical part in driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and governance maturity.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting & MIS
- Lead monthly MIS review meetings with management.
- Consolidate MIS data, validate team submissions, and prepare comprehensive financial presentations.
- Oversee month-end closure including accruals, prepaid amortization, depreciation, lease equalization, payroll entries, F&F, and related schedules.
- Conduct business performance reviews and support strategic decision-making.
2. Statutory Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Final review and approval of all statutory filings: GST, TDS, PF, PT, ESIC, and other applicable laws.
- Review PGSLLC tax workings: cash P&L, balance sheet, partner-wise tax deductions vs. payment.
- Ensure timely completion of quarterly and annual tax and regulatory submissions.
- Maintain high standards of governance and compliance discipline across the team.
3. Audit Management
- Lead statutory audits including financial audit, GST audit, SOC audit, and internal/external assessments.
- Oversee preparation of audit schedules and ensure closure of auditor queries.
4. Intercompany & Operational Finance
- Review and verify cost billbacks to ensure accuracy of monthly intercompany transactions.
- Oversee monthly support cost allocations and cross-charge agreements.
- Review monthly billing including 15% margin workings.
- Manage profit share determination and capital account reconciliations across LLP structures.
5. Cashflow & Treasury
- Monitor cash balances and manage fund allocations.
- Lead cashflow forecasting and ensure alignment with business priorities.
- Oversee banking coordination, fund transfers, and related compliance.
6. Vendor & Contract
- Review vendor agreements and ensure compliance with internal policies.
- Support procurement and vendor onboarding processes as required.
7. Business Planning & Strategy
- Support and lead business plan development.
- Participate in strategic discussions with management and cross-functional leaders.
- Guide transformation initiatives and process improvements.
8. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate the finance team; manage performance and resolve escalations.
- Coordinate across departments for operational alignment and smoother financial processes.
- Ensure efficient communication and timely response to internal and external stakeholders.
9. Payroll & HR-Linked Finance Activities
- Review payroll workings, reimbursements, F&F, salary-related entries, and statutory submissions.
- Ensure compliance and accuracy in all employee cost-related accounting.
10. Adhoc & Management-Assigned Projects
- Lead special projects including finance transformation, automation, policy strengthening, and strategic initiatives.
- Handle daily escalations, priority tasks, and email communication management.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional qualification.
- 10–15 years of progressive experience in Finance, Accounting, Audit, and Compliance.
- Strong knowledge of statutory requirements (GST, TDS, PF, PT, ESIC).
- Experience handling audits, intercompany transactions, and multi-entity structures.
- Proven stakeholder management and team leadership capabilities.
