Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Vice President – Data Administration

Business Line / Function: IFSO – Fund Administration

Position Purpose

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) leads the Data Administration Centre in Chennai, overseeing the set‑up and maintenance of security data, pricing, and corporate‑action processing that feed the Fund Administration platforms used to calculate NAVs for multi‑geography funds. The role combines client‑facing expertise, people leadership, and operational excellence to deliver high‑quality, error‑free data while driving continuous improvement and creativity in problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Securities Pricing : Collect market prices from external vendors.Validate data and load it into internal accounting platforms for NAV calculation, middle‑office, performance reporting, and custody activities.
  • Security Creation & Data‑Quality Management: Create and maintain static security data across accounting and trading systems.Continuously monitor data quality and resolve discrepancies.
  • Corporate‑Action Processing : Receive dividend and corporate‑action feeds from multiple vendors.
  • Process events so Fund Accounting can correctly record income and portfolio changes
  • Leadership & Centre Management : Run and continuously develop the Chennai Securities Data Administration Centre.Shape a global operating model that is efficient, scalable, and aligned with BNP Paribas ISPL culture.Build a high‑performing, sustainable team that delivers measurable efficiency gains and service‑quality excellence.Define and implement a clear organisational structure, succession plan, and talent‑development strategy for DA talent in Chennai.
  • Governance & Controls : Ensure all processes and controls meet the highest internal‑audit standards; drive remediation plans where gaps are identified.
  • Champion a culture of risk awareness, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder & Cross‑Border Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with global DA leadership, internal clients (Fund Accounting, Middle Office, Performance, Custody) and external vendors.
  • Represent the DA centre in global governance forums and project boards.
  • Project Management: Lead department‑wide projects and initiatives, from initiation to delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Contributing Responsibilities

  • Run brainstorming sessions and share best practices across the DA community.
  • Review and refresh procedures regularly to keep them aligned with evolving processes and regulatory changes.
  • Oversee onboarding of new clients and support organic growth of existing relationships.
  • Mentor team members, promote knowledge‑sharing, and champion a collaborative workplace.
  • Participate in corporate citizenship activities and support the broader BNP Paribas values.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in stream with Relevant years of experience of 12‑15 years in Securities Services, with at least 5 years in senior operational/management roles (preferably Data Administration).In-depth understanding of the system functionalities . Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment, solid organizational and interpersonal skills.
