Assistant Manager - Transport

What this job involves:
Responsible for overseeing site-level transport operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant service delivery. Manages vendor performance, client coordination, team supervision, operational reporting, cost control, and continuous improvement across transport services.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day transport operations and ensure smooth service delivery.
- Assist in planning routes, manage trip schedules, and monitor employee pickups and drop-offs.
- Ensure cabs and shuttles depart on time and service commitments are met.
- Maintain shift registers, vehicle schedules, and operational checklists.
- Resolve employee escalations and close requests within defined timelines.
Client and Vendor Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for transport-related escalations.
- Coordinate with client stakeholders, SPOCs, and senior management on operational matters.
- Manage vendor performance through regular reviews, scorecards, and escalation tracking.
- Maintain contract trackers and support renewals and addendum coordination.
- Conduct regular meetings with vendors and stakeholders and share meeting updates.
Compliance and Risk Control
- Ensure compliance with client security guidelines, transport policies, and statutory requirements.
- Support BCP and ensure transport readiness during disruption or crisis situations.
- Report incidents, accidents, and operational disruptions promptly through the appropriate channels.
- Ensure audit documentation, reports, and supporting records are accurate and complete.
Reporting and Financial Tracking
- Prepare daily dashboards, weekly and monthly operational reports, and management summaries.
- Share MIS on operations, service performance, and cost trends within agreed timelines.
- Support invoice processing, monthly accruals, deductions, penalties, and cost analysis.
- Assist during audits and provide justification for findings, where required.
Team Leadership
- Supervise transport executives, drivers, and vendor personnel.
- Prepare rosters, maintain attendance records, and coordinate staffing requirements.
- Plan and deliver training for transport team members and drivers.
- Support performance reviews, goal setting, and development planning for the team.
- Drive process improvements to improve efficiency, service quality, and client satisfaction.
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree is mandatory
5-8 years of transport management experience
3+ years in supervisory or team leadership roles
Experience managing large-scale employee transport operations (1000+ users preferred)
Background in corporate transport services or fleet management.
