Role Summary
We are looking for a proactive and well-organized Assistant Director to support and coordinate our ongoing podcast shoots. The role goes beyond traditional AD responsibilities and involves complete start-to-end coordination of podcast production, including crew management, talent coordination, logistics, and studio operations to ensure smooth and timely execution of shoots.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Production
- Assist the Director in planning and scheduling podcast shoots.
- Coordinate with studios for booking, availability, and setup requirements.
- Arrange shoot logistics including equipment movement from godown to shoot location.
- Coordinate with makeup artists, spot boys, helpers, and other support staff.
- Ensure all shoot items, props, and technical requirements are prepared in advance.
- Maintain shoot schedules, call sheets, and coordination checklists.
Production (On-Shoot)
- Act as the main point of contact between Director, crew, talent, and support staff.
- Coordinate with celebrities, guests, and talent regarding call time, briefing, and movement.
- Supervise workers, spot men, helpers, and ensure tasks are completed on time.
- Oversee studio readiness, set setup, and smooth shoot flow.
- Handle real-time problem-solving during shoots to avoid delays.
- Ensure discipline, punctuality, and professional conduct on set.
Post-Shoot & Wrap-Up
- Coordinate packing and return of equipment and props to the godown.
- Ensure shoot locations are cleared and studio obligations are fulfilled.
- Share shoot updates, reports, and observations with the Director/Production team.
- Assist in planning upcoming shoots based on learnings and requirements.
Skills & Requirements
- Prior experience as an Assistant Director, Production Coordinator, or similar role (preferred).
- Strong coordination, communication, and people-management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
- Comfortable working with celebrities and professional talent.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as per shoot schedules.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of podcast or video production workflows is an advantage.
