Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for managing the assigned territory for India Aftermarket Controls business in full alignment with IMI CCI policies.
- Maintain strong customer relationships with all plants in the designated area.
- Conduct regular plant visits to support outage planning, improve plant performance, reduce downtime, and promote IMI CCI aftermarket solutions.
- Build and maintain long‑term relationships with plant owners/operators to secure ongoing business and future sales references.
- Plan and manage sales activities by ensuring accurate, up‑to‑date information in the CRM (SFDC).
- Stay informed about global and local market trends, upcoming projects, and relevant industry events within the assigned territory.
Sales
- Maintain and regularly update all commercial activities in the IMI CCI CRM as per management requirements.
- Stay informed on customer tender portals/sources and record them in CRM.
- Coordinate with inside sales to obtain and submit budgetary proposals for customer outages.
- Receive RFQs, translate/clarify, and forward them to inside sales promptly.
- Review proposals from inside sales and submit them to customers quickly, preferably in person.
- Actively follow up on submitted proposals.
- Forward customer purchase orders to inside sales immediately and assist with translations/clarifications.
- Support communication between inside sales/project management and customers to avoid shipment or payment issues.
- Assist finance with overdue cash collection when required.
- Promote IMI and IMI CCI Aftermarket functions during customer interactions.
- Attend IMI CCI meetings/conferences and contribute to overall business profitability.
- Collaborate with IMI CCI sales teams (Marketing, Nuclear, Upgrades, Follow-On) in IMI's best interest.
- Work with Application Engineering and Technical Services to ensure optimal customer support.
Plant Visits
- Plan and conduct plant visits ahead of outages to promote IMI CCI aftermarket products and solutions and record all visits in the CRM.
- During visits, perform walk‑downs to inspect installed valves/controllers, take inspection notes, and update them in the CRM.
- Check warehouse inventories during plant visits and inform customers of replenishment needs.
- Carry appropriate and approved PPE to customer sites to safely perform inspections and inventory checks.
Outage Management
- Maintain and update planned outages at plants/units in the IMI CCI CRM tool.
- Being aware of the sources for information on plant outages and staying updated on this information, as well as reflecting it in the IMI CCI CRM tool.
Forecasting
- Keep the IMI CRM continuously updated with opportunities, outages, sales visits, OVC data, and other required inputs to ensure accurate forecasting.
- Prepare 5‑year sales forecasts for all active plants in the assigned territory within the CRM.
- Provide ongoing forecasts as required by management through the CRM and supply short‑term outage, OVC, and opportunity forecasts in other formats when requested.
Desired skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical/chemical/Instrumentation Engineering with 6-10 years in handling technical sales experience, preferably control valves, actuators, pumps, compressors, or other mechanically related equipment, preferably control valves or other mechanically related equipment.
- General working knowledge of Power Plants, Fertiliser, Oil & Gas production / processing facilities is preferable.
- Good understanding of commercial terms used in industry and knowledge of Sales Process including tender/enquiry process.
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills essential.
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written required, in English & local language if any.
