Job Title - Assistant Manager Banquet Sales | Luxury Hospitality

Location - Mumbai, Maharashtra

Role Overview

The Assistant Manager - Banquet Sales is responsible for driving banquet business by engaging with clients, understanding their requirements, preparing proposals, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring smooth execution of all banquet functions. The role demands strong sales skills, attention to detail, and effective coordination to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Discuss banquet requirements with guests and understand their needs.
  • Interact with clients to generate sales and build long-term relationships.
  • Negotiate with clients and work towards converting inquiries into confirmed bookings.
  • Respond promptly to all client queries and follow up as required.
  • Send proper proposals to customers and arrange all requirements for smooth execution of functions.
  • Discuss the menu with clients at least 15 days prior to the function.
  • Gather complete details about the flow of the function and discuss all functional requirements.
  • Once the menu is decided, send the Menu Contract copy and invoices to the client and ensure 100% advance payment is collected 7 days prior to the function.
  • Discuss the complete flow of the function with the client, Head of Department, and panel decorators.
  • Obtain signatures on the contract copy and request final menu confirmation 7 days before the function.
  • Release the function prospectus to all departments at least 5 days prior for smooth functioning.
  • Share daily inquiry details with the Head of Department.
  • Prepare outdoor menus in coordination with seniors when required.
  • Prepare monthly sales reports.
  • Maintain the Monthly Sales Forecast report.
  • Coordinate effectively with staff to ensure seamless operations.
  • Prepare revenue reports as required.
  • Achieve monthly sales targets through various upselling methods.
  • Maintain productivity reports.
  • Add a Wow factor for regular corporate clients by offering small value additions that create a positive impression and support long-term business relationships.
  • Conduct show rounds of all banquet spaces for clients visiting the hotel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 35 years of experience in banquet sales, catering sales, or hospitality sales.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to convert leads and meet sales targets.
  • Excellent coordination and client relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic CRM tools preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and a customer-centric approach.
