A Capital Equipment Sales Manager oversees a sales team selling large, expensive, durable goods that are essential for a business's operations, such as machinery, capital goods manufacturing equipment.
We are seeking a proactive and target-driven Assistant Sales Manager with experience in the Capital Goods / Industrial Equipment sector. The role involves driving sales, developing new business opportunities, maintaining client relationships, and supporting the sales team to achieve organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Sales Manager in developing and executing sales strategies for capital goods.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in domestic and international markets.
- Generate leads through market research, networking, and customer engagement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, OEMs, distributors, and industry partners.
- Understand customer requirements and propose suitable solutions.
- Prepare and deliver technical/commercial presentations and proposals.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to close deals effectively.
- Support in achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Track competitor activities and provide market intelligence to management.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, production, service, finance) to ensure seamless execution of customer orders.
- Ensure timely follow-up on payments and customer satisfaction post-sales.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial) or related field; MBA preferred.
- 3–6 years of sales experience in capital goods, industrial machinery, or engineering equipment.
- Strong understanding of capital goods market dynamics and B2B sales cycles.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
- Willingness to travel extensively for client meetings and business development.
