Assistant Registrar Quality Assurance & Accreditation

Registrar (with functional engagement with Academic Leadership)

It will initially offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses in computer science with AI and cybersecurity, business, economics, and creative industries.

About the Role:

The Assistant Registrar Quality Assurance & Accreditation will play a critical role in establishing, managing, and strengthening the University's quality assurance framework. The role will lead accreditation readiness, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement in line with Indian and international higher education standards.

This position requires hands-on experience with NAAC and other statutory/accreditation bodies, strong academic governance understanding, and the ability to work closely with faculty, leadership, and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Academic Governance

  • Design, implement, and monitor institutional quality assurance frameworks aligned with UGC, University of York Quality Assurance framework, and international best practices
  • Support development, review, and documentation of academic policies, SOPs, and governance processes
  • Coordinate internal audits, academic reviews, and quality enhancement initiatives

Regulatory Compliance

  • Liaise with regulatory bodies including UGC and other accreditation agencies as required
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory data, reports, and disclosures
  • Track regulatory changes and advise leadership on implications and readiness

Data, Documentation & Reporting

  • Oversee collection, validation, and analysis of institutional data for accreditation and rankings
  • Maintain accurate documentation, evidence repositories, and audit trails
  • Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and dashboards for leadership and external bodies

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline (PhD preferred), with 58+ years of progressive experience in higher education administration focused on Quality Assurance and Accreditation
  • Proven, hands-on experience in leading and contributing to accreditation preparation and managing NAAC processes, preferably within an institution accredited with NAAC Grade A or above.
  • Strong working knowledge of Indian higher education regulatory and compliance frameworks.

Desirable

  • Exposure to international quality frameworks
  • Experience working within autonomous universities or institutions of national or international standing

  • Deep domain expertise in quality assurance and accreditation processes
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation and evidence management discipline
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and clear, professional communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and deliver outcomes in a fast-scaling academic environment
  • High levels of integrity, discretion, accountability, and ownership
