Position: Assistant Manager QAQC

Department: Quality Assurance & Quality Control

Location: Project Site / Head Office (as applicable)

Reporting To: QAQC Manager / Senior Manager Quality

Role Purpose

The Assistant Manager QAQC is responsible for supporting the implementation, monitoring, and continual improvement of quality management systems across construction projects, ensuring compliance with company standards, client specifications, and statutory regulations to deliver high-quality projects.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management & Control

  • Assist in implementing and maintaining the QAQC system in line with ISO standards and Sobha quality benchmarks.
  • Ensure compliance with approved Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), Method Statements, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate inspections with consultants and clients and ensure timely closure of inspection observations.

Site Quality Assurance

  • Conduct regular site audits, quality inspections, and surveillance of ongoing works.
  • Identify non-conformances (NCRs), analyze root causes, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Monitor workmanship quality for civil, finishing, MEP, and structural works as applicable.
  • Ensure proper control, testing, and approval of incoming materials.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Review and maintain QAQC documentation including checklists, inspection reports, test results, and quality records.
  • Prepare quality reports, dashboards, and monthly quality performance summaries.
  • Ensure proper documentation and handover of quality records during project completion.

Coordination & Training

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and consultants on quality-related matters.
  • Assist in training site teams and subcontractors on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement across project teams.

Compliance & Audits

  • Support internal and external audits, including ISO and client audits.
  • Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, statutory requirements, and safety standards related to quality.
  • Participate in management reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in QAQC within construction or real estate projects (preferably high-rise/residential projects).
  • Experience working with reputed developers or EPC contractors is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
