Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Quality Assurance Manager based in Noida. The role involves assisting in the development and implementation of quality assurance processes, reviewing production systems to ensure compliance with ISO quality standards, conducting audits, and preparing reports. The Assistant Quality Assurance Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, suggest process improvements, provide technical guidance, and support training initiatives to enhance overall quality awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Process Control & Improvement

Establish and monitor process control parameters across manufacturing stages.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process capability.

Ensure adherence to defined standards, SOPs, and control plans.

2. Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

Conduct RCA for internal and customer complaints.

Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Track effectiveness of actions and ensure permanent resolution.

3. Quality Tools & Process Planning

Develop and maintain Process Flow Diagram (PFD), Process FMEA (PFMEA), and Control Plan (CP).

Conduct process feasibility studies for new and existing products.

Perform SPC (Statistical Process Control) studies and ensure process stability.

4. New Product Development & Implementation

Support pilot lot runs and validate product and process readiness.

Handle new product implementation and ensure smooth transition to mass production.

5. New Machine Verification & Validation

Participate in new machine trials and ensure quality compliance before bulk production.

Ensure machine qualification and validation before handing over to production.

Approve process parameters and ensure consistency during scale-up to bulk production.

6. Training & Capability Development

Conduct quality-related training for shop-floor personnel.

Develop awareness on quality standards, defects, and best practices.

7. Documentation & Compliance

Maintain departmental quality documentation and records.

Ensure proper version control and traceability of documents.

Handle ISO-9001 documentation and ensure compliance with QMS requirements.

8. Internal Audits

Plan and conduct internal audits as per audit schedule.

Identify gaps and ensure timely closure of audit observations.

Support external audits and certification processes.

9. Cross-functional Coordination

Work closely with Production, Engineering, and NPD teams.

Ensure effective implementation of quality requirements across departments.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of Quality Core Tools (PFMEA, SPC, Control Plan, PFD)

Expertise in problem-solving methodologies (RCA, CAPA, 7 QC tools)

Knowledge of ISO-9001 documentation and audit processes

Analytical thinking and attention to detail

Good communication and training skills

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance processes, quality systems, and compliance standards.
  • Experience in conducting audits, testing, and preparing detailed reports.
  • Problem-solving and process improvement skills, and ability to analyse data effectively.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferably in the automotive or industrial sector.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in quality assurance or a related role is preferred.

Experience:

58 years of experience in Quality, preferably in manufacturing industry

Experience in rubber / automotive / V-Belt industry preferred

Preferred Industry:

Rubber / Automotive / Power Transmission Belts
