Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Monitoring: Develop comprehensive work plans, monitor progress against established timelines, and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure project success.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks related to civil works, develop mitigation strategies, and propose solutions to minimize impact.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a central point of contact, coordinating effectively with internal teams (e.g., project managers, site engineers) and external stakeholders (e.g., clients, contractors, consultants, vendors).
  • Design & Drawing Management:
  • Coordinate with Architects and Structural Consultants to ensure timely delivery and validation of all Civil, Structural, and Public Health Engineering (PHE) drawings, including coordination drawings.
  • Collect shop drawings from vendors for respective packages, facilitate validation by Civil/Structural consultants, and issue approved drawings to contractors for execution.
  • Method Statement Approval: Obtain work method statements from contractors for all civil packages and facilitate their approval by relevant consultants.
  • Construction Supervision & Quality:
  • Oversee and monitor all civil-related construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement the Civil Quality Manual and Inspection and Testing Plan (ITP).
  • Ensure all Material Inspection Reports (MIRs) are certified before materials are used on-site, including sign-off by consultant representatives.
  • Documentation & Tracking:
  • Establish and maintain robust documentation processes for all civil services and equipment.
  • Track civil material deliveries and maintain a long-lead items delivery tracker to prevent project delays.
  • Compliance & Verification:
  • Monitor construction measures to ensure conformity with design specifications (GFC drawings) and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Participate in testing and commissioning of civil services activities, maintaining accurate testing certificates and checklists.
  • Verify, evaluate, and facilitate the implementation of accompanying changes to works, recommending them to the client for approval.
  • Handover & Closeout:
  • Obtain all relevant and necessary Operation & Maintenance (O&M) documents, guarantees, and warranties.
  • Ensure the smooth and comprehensive handover of civil and structural packages upon project completion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methodologies, and quality control procedures.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and PHE drawings.
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, and make informed decisions.
  • Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
