Assistant Professor - School of Sustainability

School of Sustainability invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor. School seeks highly motivated scholars with strong research and teaching interests in Waste Management, Sustainable Supply Chain Management, and Sustainable Finance.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. from an Institute of National Importance (INI) and have a minimum of two years of relevant teaching, research, or postdoctoral experience. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, curriculum development, and academic service while supporting the School's mission to advance sustainability-focused education and research.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching

• Deliver high-quality teaching at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive education levels in areas such as:

a. Waste Management and Circular Economy

b. Sustainable Supply Chain Management

c. Sustainable Finance and ESG

d. Sustainability and Responsible Business

• Develop and update course materials, case studies, and innovative teaching methodologies.
• Supervise student projects, theses, and research work.

Research

• Conduct impactful research in areas related to sustainability, including:

a. Waste management systems and circular economy practices

b. Green and sustainable supply chains

c. Sustainable finance, ESG frameworks, and climate finance

• Publish research in high-quality peer-reviewed journals
• Seek external research funding and develop collaborative research initiatives.
• Present research at national and international academic conferences.

Academic and Institutional Service

• Contribute to curriculum development and program design for the institute
• Participate in academic committees, accreditation processes, and institutional initiatives.
• Engage in interdisciplinary and collaborative projects within the institution.
• Industry and Outreach
• Build partnerships with industry, government agencies, and sustainability organizations.
• Contribute to consulting, executive education, and outreach programs related to sustainability.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Ph.D. from an Institute of International & National Importance (INI) such as IITs, IIMs, IISc, IISERs, NITs, or equivalent institutions in areas including:

a. Sustainability

b. Logistics and Supply Chain Management

c. Sustainable Finance

d. Environmental Management

e. Chemical Engineering

f. Related disciplines

Experience

Minimum 2 years of teaching, research, or postdoctoral experience in a reputed academic institution or research organization.
