Job Summary
The Physical Education Associate Professor will be responsible for teaching, training, and promoting physical fitness and sports activities among students. The role includes delivering theoretical and practical knowledge in physical education, organizing sports events, mentoring students in athletics, and contributing to the overall development of the sports culture within the institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to Physical Education and Sports Sciences.
- Plan and conduct practical training sessions in various sports and fitness activities.
- Develop and update curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional materials.
- Train and mentor students for inter-college, university, and national sports competitions.
- Organize sports events, tournaments, and fitness programs within the university.
- Evaluate students through practical tests, assignments, and examinations.
- Maintain records of student performance and participation in sports activities.
- Promote health awareness, fitness programs, and wellness initiatives on campus.
- Guide students in sports-related research and projects.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to support holistic student development.
- Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of sports equipment and facilities.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Physical Education or related field (preferred as per university norms).
- NET / SET qualification as per UGC guidelines (if applicable).
- Minimum 1 years of teaching experience in Physical Education at a college or university level (preferred).
- Experience in coaching or managing sports teams will be an added advantage.
