Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Academic Duties
- Deliver lectures in core petroleum engineering subjects such as:
- Reservoir Engineering
- Drilling Engineering
- Production Engineering
- Well Logging
- Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and lesson plans
- Supervise student projects, internships, and theses
- Conduct laboratory sessions and field-based training where applicable
- Evaluate student performance through exams, assignments, and assessments
2. Research & Development
- Conduct high-quality research in areas like:
- Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR)
- Reservoir simulation
- Unconventional resources
- Publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals
- Apply for research grants and funding
- Collaborate with industry and academic institutions
3. Academic Service & Administration
- Participate in curriculum development and accreditation activities
- Serve on departmental/university committees
- Assist in organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences
- Contribute to institutional development initiatives
4. Industry Engagement
- Maintain collaboration with oil & gas companies
- Facilitate student internships and industry projects
- Stay updated with industry trends and technologies
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related field
Experience
- 0–3 years of teaching/research experience (for entry-level roles)
- Industry experience in oil & gas is an added advantage
