Position Overview
Dayananda Sagar University (DSU), School of Commerce & Management Studies, invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Operations & Supply Chain Management (OSCM). The ideal candidate will contribute to postgraduate programs by delivering high-quality teaching, engaging in impactful research, and supporting industry-driven academic initiatives.
Note: PhD in a relevant discipline is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Academic Delivery
- Teach postgraduate programs (MBA/M.Com and other PG specializations) in areas such as:
- Operations Management
- Supply Chain Management
- Logistics Management
- Production & Inventory Planning
- Quality Management
- Lean Management & Six Sigma
- Operations Strategy
- Procurement & Vendor Management
- Demand Forecasting & Quantitative Techniques
- Develop and revise course content to reflect current industry practices.
- Supervise student dissertations, live projects, internships, and case-based assignments.
- Use experiential learning tools, simulations, and case studies in classroom teaching.
Research & Publications
- Conduct high-quality research in operations, logistics, and supply chain domains.
- Publish in Scopus/Web of Science-indexed journals and present at reputed conferences.
- Engage in research collaborations, consultancy, and funded research projects.
Industry & Institutional Engagement
- Liaise with industry partners for guest lectures, internships, live projects, and industry certifications.
- Support the development of Centers of Excellence in logistics and supply chain innovation.
- Contribute to curriculum design aligned with emerging technologies (IoT, Industry 4.0, digital supply chains, etc.).
Administrative Responsibilities
- Participate in department and university committees, accreditation activities, and academic governance.
- Mentor students and contribute toward institutional development initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- PhD (Mandatory) in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Quantitative Methods, or closely related fields.
- Master's degree (MBA/M.Tech/M.Sc/Equivalent) with specialization in Operations/Supply Chain.
- Strong academic record and evidence of teaching proficiency at PG level.
- Active research profile or potential for high-quality publications.
Preferred Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in tools and methods such as:
- SAP/ERP systems
- Supply chain analytics
- Excel Modelling, R/Python (for quantitative modelling)
- Statistical tools (SPSS, Minitab, etc.)
- Strong presentation, communication, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to integrate practical cases, industry examples, and simulations.
- Experience in industry consulting or corporate training (preferred but not mandatory).
