Assistant Professor – Mathematics

Role & Responsibilities
Academic Responsibilities
Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in areas such as:
- Engineering Mathematics
- Applied Mathematics
- Linear Algebra
- Calculus & Differential Equations
- Probability & Statistics
- Numerical Methods & Optimization Techniques
- Conduct tutorials, assignments, and problem-solving sessions.
- Develop and update curriculum in accordance with University Grants Commission norms and emerging academic trends.
- Prepare academic documentation including course files, lesson plans, and assessment records.
- Integrate modern teaching methodologies, digital tools, and outcome-based education practices.
Research & Scholarly Contributions
- Publish research articles in UGC-CARE / Scopus indexed journals.
- Assist in guiding student projects, dissertations, and research activities.
- Participate in funded research proposals and collaborative projects.
- Present research findings at national and international conferences.
Academic Administration
- Support departmental academic activities and committees.
- Assist in NAAC/NIRF documentation and accreditation processes.
- Participate in workshops, seminars, FDPs, and academic events.
- Maintain LMS/ERP records including attendance, marks, and reports.
Eligibility Criteria
Assistant Professor
- Ph.D. in Mathematics / Applied Mathematics / Statistics (preferred as per UGC norms)
- M.Sc. in Mathematics with strong academic record
- 0–5 years of teaching/research experience
Desirable Competencies
- Strong foundation in core mathematical concepts
- Proficiency in tools such as MATLAB, Python, R, or Mathematica
- Research aptitude and analytical thinking
- Knowledge of outcome-based education and accreditation standards
- Strong communication and presentation skills
Performance Expectations
- Achievement of teaching effectiveness and student feedback benchmarks
- Contribution to research publications and academic development
- Active participation in departmental and institutional activities
