Job Description – Assistant Professor (Marketing)

Position: Assistant Professor – Marketing

Department: Amity Business School / School of Business

Location: Amity University Hyderabad

Minimum Qualification

  • MBA/PGDM with specialization in Marketing from a recognized university/institution.
  • Ph.D. in Marketing (Awarded) or Ph.D. Thesis Submitted in Marketing or a closely related area.
  • Consistently good academic record throughout.
  • Candidates with research publications in reputed journals will be preferred.

Role Overview

The Assistant Professor – Marketing will be responsible for teaching, research, academic administration, student mentoring, and contributing to the growth and development of the School of Business. The position requires a strong commitment to academic excellence, innovation in teaching, and scholarly research.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Academic Delivery

  • Teach undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive education courses in Marketing and related disciplines.
  • Develop and deliver lectures, case discussions, workshops, and experiential learning activities.
  • Design course content, lesson plans, assignments, assessments, and examination materials.
  • Employ innovative teaching methodologies and technology-enabled learning tools.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.

Research & Publications

  • Conduct high-quality research in Marketing and allied areas.
  • Publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus, ABDC, Web of Science, or equivalent databases.
  • Present research findings at national and international conferences.
  • Participate in funded research projects, consultancy assignments, and industry collaborations.
  • Contribute to intellectual property creation, case writing, and academic thought leadership.

Student Mentoring

  • Mentor students for academic, professional, and personal development.
  • Guide student projects, dissertations, internships, and industry-based assignments.
  • Support student participation in competitions, conferences, and entrepreneurial initiatives.

Academic Administration

  • Participate in curriculum development, accreditation, rankings, and quality assurance activities.
  • Contribute to admissions, student engagement, placement support, and outreach programs.
  • Assist in organizing seminars, workshops, conferences, management development programs, and guest lectures.

Industry Engagement

  • Build relationships with industry professionals and corporate partners.
  • Facilitate industry interactions, live projects, internships, and consultancy opportunities.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and practices in Marketing and Business Management.

  • Strong conceptual knowledge of Marketing and Business Management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to teach using case-based and experiential learning approaches.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills.
  • Proficiency in statistical and analytical tools such as SPSS, AMOS, SmartPLS, R, Python, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary academic environment.

Experience

  • Fresh Ph.D. (Thesis Submitted) candidates with strong academic and research credentials may be considered.
  • Prior teaching, research, industry, consulting, or corporate experience in Marketing will be an added advantage.
