Role Description The Assistant Professor of Journalism and Mass Communication will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in journalism, broadcasting, and multimedia communication. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing course materials, delivering lectures, supervising practical labs and studio work, and guiding learners in projects and internships. The role involves designing industry-relevant curricula, evaluating assignments and examinations, mentoring learners on career pathways, and contributing to academic research or publications in the field. The Assistant Professor will also collaborate with colleagues to integrate CTPL's EdTech solutions into teaching and learning practices, participate in departmental meetings, and support academic events and workshops. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Jaipur.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Journalism and Writing, with the ability to teach core reporting, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Expertise in Broadcast Journalism and Broadcasting, including knowledge of newsroom workflows, on-air presentation, and audio/video production.
  • Proficiency in Multimedia and digital content creation, such as video, audio, online news formats, and social media communication.
  • Relevant advanced degree (preferably a Master's or Ph.D.) in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a closely related discipline.
  • Prior teaching, training, or academic experience in journalism or mass communication, or substantial professional industry experience.
  • Ability to integrate technology-enhanced learning tools and EdTech platforms into classroom and lab activities.
  • Strong communication, classroom management, and learner mentoring skills, with a commitment to inclusive and learner-centered pedagogy.
  • Demonstrated interest in research, publication, curriculum development, or collaboration with media and communication industries.
